I went to see a ped for my sons weight issues and while checking him out he retracted him part way before I could slap his hand away. My DS seems ok but I will be keeping a close eye on him to make sure. The doc managed to get the very tip of his glans out before I slapped his hand. I can't believe he did this! I was seething mad by the time I left. When I slapped his hand away he asked what was wrong and I said "What are you doing!" He said he was checking him.<br>
"For what?" I said<br>
He then said it was routine to pull back the foreskin to check him.<br>
I was sick to my stomach.<br><br><br>
(This is also a Dr. that spent the entire time trying to convince me to CIO(because he had done it with 2.5mos old DD and it worked!!!uke ) and told me that if I got him to sleep at night his growth problems would disappear. HE wanted me to shoot him up with all the missed vaxs right then and there. He told me nursing on demand was WRONG and that he shouldn't be nursing as much as he is. This entire time he told me over and over that I "wasn't the hardest nut he'd cracked" and that ALL the moms come back and thank him for his parenting advice<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/dizzy.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Dizzy">: )<br><br>
I left with no more info than when I arrived. I am so mad that I didn't say something before he touched my son. We are in city with a low circ rate so you would think he would know not to touch his penis!!!<br>

BEFORE you give him his walking papers, show him the information from the AAP and other sources, tell him that little girls don't get their vagina's manipulated, tell him you have several Swedish friends and they were surprised it's an American practice done by doctors, because it doesn't EVER happen over there (which is true!), and tell him you won't be coming back. Leave a positive impression on a negative situation.<br><br>
Sorry this b.s. happened to your son. I'm sure will suffer no permanent damage (I hope!). Good luck to him! He's lucky to have you.

I am in Canada so we just don't go back to the doctor if we don't like them, unlike the US where you fire your doctor. I wish I could fire him....OHHH that would feel good. I am going to report him and I've already put a nasty note on "Rate your MD" on the net. I hope other moms out there have stood up to him as well. He seriously thought he was GOD which really angered me. Anyhow, thank you to everyone that gave their opinion on the matter. It helps me process the situation a little more clearly. Take Care

Ask if he can weigh you really quick and when he says "okay" pretend like you're pulling down your pants. When he asks what you're doing, tell him you thought he'd want to visualize your urinary meatus while he's at it. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/mischievous.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="mischief"> I'm sure that's what he was doing to your son. I find it totally inappropriate! I'd also go so far as to say it's sexual assault to retract a boy who is non retractile. Forcing retraction an a non retractile penis causes the tissue to tear and be ripped apart! If this was done to a girl, it would be sexual assault. I swear, I almost wish I had a boy so I could persue this if it ever happened to my child!
