I am currently breastfeeding my 19mo daughter and am also 12 weeks pregnant. I'm almost almost certain that most of my milk has dried up-- she maybe gets a couple tablespoons at each nursing session, which take place every 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 hours throughout the day. I recently night weaned her because the discomfort of nursing without milk + the exhaustion of early pregnancy was just too much and I knew I needed to create some space for myself in order to continue breastfeeding at all without going crazy. It's worked pretty well, but the thing is that I don't really have much interest in tandem nursing. I don't want to make weaning a sudden and/or too close to the birth of the next baby (due in Oct) thing, so I'm trying to make a plan for the next 6 months. I have no experience with this since my other children all ceased being interested in nursing of their own accord once my milk dried up with the next pregnancy. I feel clueless about weaning and would love any input.

Thanks in advance for any links, tips, etc. that might help me.

I'm in the same boat and will watch to see what others say. I'm 8 weeks pg and am nursing (day and night) my two year old. I'm hoping to night wean in the next month or so, but the idea of tandem nursing appeals to me for some crazy reason! I'm hoping my supply doesn't diminish enough that he loses interest completely.

How did the night weaning go for you? Are you getting more sleep?
