I put dogs just because I think people are more likely to go raw with them than with their cats so I didn't want skewed results.

I actually want to get my cat on raw. The back of her teeth are pretty bad and she is going to be getting a cleaning soon. But she's 7.5 and I just don't see the transition going very well. She's the type who would starve herself for days until she gets the good (gross) stuff.

My 6 year old aussie was raw fed for his first 4 years, and off and on for the past 2. We've always had allergy issues and after much experimentation I finally figured out he's allergic to chicken/turkey. I hate to say it, but I can't afford to feed him beef or lamb all the time, esp since moving to CA. (Everything costs so much more here!) So now he's on Solid Gold. I'm still trying to find other foods that don't make his skin itch.

I also fed our older cat raw for some time, but he had a nasty habit of flinging his chicken wings across the room,
then only partially eating them. The other cat refused to eat any raw food I gave him.

I'm just talking about the actual raw (BARF) diet. Where you just throw the whole raw peice of meat (with bone and everything) to them and they eat it whole.
