Stinkin Mcdonald's!!!! This isn't about fast food. I was collecting those little wizard of Oz toys for my daughter. She loves the movie and the book. So on Wednesday I went to the same Mcd's I was going to twice a week to get the toys...no food just toys. I was told they were out but would get more on Friday. So today I went there and the stinkin' promotion was over!!! No more toys. They are selling the whole set on ebay for 30 bucks which is completely ridiculous...each toy is only 1.58.<br>
the worst part is stupid me told her they were the new toys on Friday so when she wakes up in the morning she is going to be so bummed!<br><img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/irked.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="irked">:

So which ones did you end up with? I used to work for a McDonald's distribution center, and I remember some of the craziness around the toys. There were only a certain number designated for each center, and very often there were filler toys between promotions that some stores would have to use if they ran out. I think with the teeny beanie babies, they actually had another production run or something, but usually it was just other kids of toys. I ended up getting a full set of teeny beanies from work, but that normally wasn't possible.<br><br>
Have you tried another McDonald's?

We have Dorothy, Wicked witch of the East, Glinda, The tin man, Daisy Munchkin (who is a new one i guess b/c she isn't in the book or the movie <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/wink1.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="wink1">)<br><br>

We still need A lion, A scarecrow and Wicked witch of the West.<br><br>
I know I know..it's plenty to have 5 of them but I feel so sad that she wont have the whole set. I haven't tried another yet b/c I was going to work when I found out and I get out of work at 9 and there aren't any others on my way home. I put out a wanted on freecycle. *fingers crossed*

I have an extra scarecrow! I was starting to collect them, but I can totally part with them for a little girl. I also have the Wicked Witch. I thought she was cool, but if your dd needs her, I can pass her on too.

my sons got the wizard of oz toys the other day. I think I have the scarecrow, I don't know what the other one is...I never actually saw it. But I will round them up tomorrow and let you know which ones I have. Anyone is welcome to them.

The lucky thing is you don't have to buy the food. I didn't know that at first and I ate 2 happy meals in one week,...but then I asked if I could just buy the toy and they said yes.
