My daughter is just abut 11mos. old. I started using baby signs just recently about 3 weeks ago. Anyway my questions is this:
If I point to my hand for, "more" How do I know I am not telling her that the word for "hand" is "more"? I was in the process of teaching her body parts when I got the book, baby signs. It made me wonder b/c She can point to her nose when I ask her , ""Where's your nose?" but if pointing to her nose also means elephant (as an example) how will she know the difference?

check this link and select more to see the sign for it. http://www.kindersigns.com/anim_dictionary.html

it's tapping the tips of your fingers together.

so to answer your question, if you think she will be confused by the sign you are using, make up something else (or check to see that the suggested sign isn't supposedly simplified as it seems in this case.)

hope this helps,
