A Question of Semantics

460 Views 6 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  Levi's Mom
My DH and I have been fuming over how this government carefully crafted their choice of words to *prove* Iraq was an imminent threat, all the while letting the public believe Saddam had irreputable ties to Al Quada (sp?)

Check this out - does it make you as angry as it makes me?

It is good see more of Bush's outrageous lies are crumbling at his feet!
I really hope people are paying attention to this.

T

Did anyone hear Bush yesterday addressing the press after meeting with the Hungarian Prime Minister? Now I know he's had trouble pronouncing Abu Ghraib in the past and, okay, its maybe a little hard to pronouce. But he said the prime minister brought up the "Abu Garef" <very long pause> situation.

Abu Garef! Where did the "f" come from. Didn't he receive a little coaching after he botched it so badly when the story first broke?!

Sorry I know that was sooo off topic, but... grrrrrr!!!

No excuse for any of that-- including "Abu Garef." None.

I heard this too, but thought maybe it was my imagination. Unbelievable!

I also saw clips of Cheney on the Daily Show the other night and could not believe the arguments he was giving & "facts" he was claiming. I don't know what's more amazing: grown men playing the semantics game, or the fact that they can stand behind their statements with straight faces.
Great article!
I like this:
"It's all so beautifully postmodern: all of the Bushies' lies are true. Technically."

How true! How can anyone believe anything he says?
