I have to say that my doctors willingness to step back and let me come to the decision by myself is probably why I decided to start vaccinating. If a doctor is going out of their way to make me feel pressured I'm just going to dig my heels in more because that's how I am. So I would say stating recommendation is good as long as the doctor is not pushy about it. I know I am probably in the minority in this section to feel that way.
I doubt it. I think many of us are familiar with a sense that we don't want to do something just because we're told to (aside: this is why "pro-compliance" bugs me - my vaccine choices are not and never will be about doing what I'm told to do).
