I have a mass-produced soaker (Baby Buns or something) that has worked great since I got it about 3 weeks ago. I finally washed it in Eucalan, and let it air dry for 2 days. It felt dry, so today I put it on Cole and went out for about an hour - when I picked him up to go home, the soaker squished a big cold wet spot onto my shirt. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"> I'm sad because this soaker has worked great in the past. Maybe it wasn't really dry? <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/headscratch.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="headscratch"> Could I have washed it wrong? <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/confused.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Confused">: I have washed some Sugar Peas using the same method and they are working OK. (It's a very basic method - handwash with Eucalan, let soak, blot dry with towel, air dry.)<br><br>
Why did it wick moisture so drastically?? This was a good soaker until today!

What diaper did you have him in? That's odd that it would get that soaked in an hour, but if the diaper wasn't the thickest, and he peed a whole ton, it could happen. I'd be reluctant to blame the soaker, just because I've been using thin unlanolized wool/nylon blend soakers for the last couple of days, and they've been more than adequate. But we use a really absorbent diaper, so maybe that's the difference.

Well, he was wearing a Cricketts hemp fitted, which was wet but not *soaked*. I was thinking it might need to be relanolized too, but I have only washed it one time, so that shouldn't be it, right?? It worked fine before I washed it. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/mecry.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="crying">
