I always thought dh would be on board with Snappied prefolds, because he's really good at manual dexterity. I was only half right. He can use a Snappi just fine (he won't touch pins, but I never expected him to), but he doesn't.

I've explained to him all of the pros and cons of every different type of diaper, but he quite strongly prefers AIOs, with prefolds laid into wrap-style covers a distant second.

I think that maybe for a lot of men, diapering isn't about the soft fluffyness or what's most breathable, what's easiest to clean and quickest to dry. It's just about covering the bum. What's easiest at the time of changing. I think they can understand intellectually why fitteds and wool are fun or why going coverless is nice, but when push comes to shove they aren't actually going to do it.

"I don't know why you even do that any more," he remarked while watching me use a Snappi last night.

My dp is definitely all about the ease and convenience. He only uses prestuffed pockets or fitteds. He will not touch a prefold/Snappi. And he builds chain link fences for a living, so I know he's manually dexterous.

She's talking about laying out your cover and folding your prefolds into thirds so it is a long rectangle and placing it in the cover here's a pic - it's the third pic down.

DH hates fitted and loves the snappis. I did the trifold thing thinking it would make up for talking him into cding.... and he hated it. He also dislikes fitteds.... and I'm not buying AIO's!

I think it just depends on the DP!

Ummm, I'm just impressed that your DP's do CD's at all. Mine wont touch them. Oh, except for one time, when he threw dd's wool shorts in with our laundry, as a 'favor' to me.:

See, my partner is just cheap. He was fine snappi-ing prefolds and thought it was ridiculous for me to buy anything else. That is, until I did anyway-- now he loves Fuzzi Bunz. His worst enemy is velcro, since our toddler tends to hide, remove velcro diaper, and promptly poop on the carpet. I wanted to buy some AIOs and he was making fun of me, since he doesn't mind stuffing pockets. And he thinks they'd take too long to dry.

DH is fine with Snappi/prefolds. But, he rarely gets it snappied tight enough so they gape open when he's done. Doesn't bother to tuck any extra diaper into the cover. And when he takes off the snappis he snags the cloth... I was wondering why my pfs were shredding.

But hey, at least he does CD.

My DH changes as many CD's as I do. We BOTH prefer AIO's. Though I don't have a "system" per se...we do whatever. I do prefolds in covers, fitteds, whatever I grab...but we both PREFER AIO's.

MY dh can actually put a snappied prefold on better than I can...although he's slower at it but the darn thing looks perfect once he's done! BUT....he doesn't usually change our son's dipes and would much prefer something that is easy and convenient like a pre stuffed pocket....or better yet....a sposie.....I think he kind of thinks I'm crazy for CDing....he thinks it's more work for me when you consider the extra laundry and he thinks that dumping poo in the toilet is just an uneccesary thing that I wouldn't have to do if I used sposies (he doesn't get that when you use sposies, you are SUPPOSED to do that too)....but he doesn't complain...he pretty much lets me do what I want since I am the one who changes the dipes 99.9% of the time.
