I have a frien that is 4 months pregnant. She is planning on Bfing for about 3 months... (She Bf her Dd for that long "She weaned herself" is what I am told) When she went to her WIC appointment the other day they asked her if she'd teach a Bf class!

They have a "trained lactation consultant" on staff. What gives? I like this person but she is not at all open to suggestions that aren't in line with her parenting practices. If the doctor says it's so then it must be! So now there are going to have untold #s of women sitting there & being told that it's good to Bf & you can wean at 3 months. (Bf classes are mandetory if you want wic)

Sounds to me they are just playing lip service to the breastfeeding rules. I wonder how qualified their "lactation consultant" is, too....
