this is unbelievable: a long time ago, i put contact paper in some of my drawers and cabinets to (what i thought would) protect them. well... when i pulled the contact paper up, i pulled up part of the cabient with it. now my drawers and cabinet bottoms are ruined.

what would you do? is it even fixable?

I would probably cover the ruined surfaces with a fresh layer of contact paper. If you haven't ripped up ALL the contact paper yet, then leave it in place.

When I moved into my house the drawers had multiple layers of old contact paper. I guess due to the age it came up quickly and didn't cause any damage. I agree with PP, put down new contact paper. I wonder if heat would soften the grip (like from a hair dryer). GL!
