I need an ABC carrier, and I'd love to buy one, but I can't afford it right now. I am going to make one, but I have a few questions about the specifics...

1. How big to make the body? I'm 5'2" and DS is 22 pounds.
2. How much of the top straps are padded?
3. do I angle the bottom straps or have them coming out the side?

I do NOT plan to sell these- ever- and I promise if 1 of the ABC makin' mamas want to share I will NOT copy-cat. My Kozy # is up and I'm going to have to pass because I need this like- next Monday. I plan to sew it Friday. Pretty please give me some tips.

Have you ever been to www.thebabywearer.com ? They have a whole forum full of peole making baby carriers, including mei teis. You'll have to join, but it's free and easy. Just scroll down till you get to the forums link. HTH, sorry I cant give you more deails, I dont have a mei tei or a baby to wear it in yet, unless you count a bunch of tiny dogs, and TBH I usually dont. I'm sure they'd love it tho.

I made a FrankenKozy in a day! I used a bit too heavy fabric...so I'm going to make another one..but it is very comfortable.

pm or e-mail me and i'll tell you what I'd change!

I would try making the body around 20" x 20" (you can add a flap at top for head support, on top of the 20" if you like

I pad mine about 18" long, and that should be more than enough for someone your size

These you want to come straigh out. These wrap stright around your waist sort of like an apron. Any angling there would just put extra stress on the seams.
