ABQ: April Showers Bring May Flowers

So anyone think it'll rain this month?

Sarah and I are still sick. I'm doing slightly worse and Sarah is doing pretty horribly. Last night she started coughing and it seemed like she couldn't breath. Luckily she settled back down and went right back to sleep. Poor thing is so tired. She only napped 40 mintues total yesterday, in 20 minute intervals. So far today she's only napped 10 minutes on her own and another 30 while nursing. A lot of people dh is in contact with at work (most work on base) are getting or have been sick, so something is going around. Either way, this bites!

I have been noticing some sneezes going around here which usually means something is coming on. I echo your "this bites" in anticipation. I am pregnant and not looking forward to dealing with colds on top of queeziness, blech.
Sorry you are feeling crappy.
Karen
Congratulations Karen!

DH is trying to come home today (he worked late last night) to take care of Sarah and I, so hopefully we'll be better soon!
UGH - sorry you all fel so bad

I am pretty sure we will be having dd's party on April 29th at our house. Please mark your calenders and let me know if you think you will be able to make it! Please pm me or email me!
More details to come soon!

Hi everyone! YUCK....not sickness again! Karen congrats! I just pm'd you about Barb, she's GREAT! Hey on another note are you in a home schooling group?? I have this weird feeling we've met. You'r babies names seem familiar, maybe I'm just crazy LOL. Sorta-Fairytale party sounds great I'll e-mail you. health to everyone.
Some of us are meeting tomarrow at 3:30 ish at summit park!
Hope to see you there!
By some weird twist of fate the girls & I spontaneously decided to swing by Summit on our way home where I met (finally) Fairytale & Karen! Jess was their too with Finn & Saskia (if any of you remember her). I figured something must be up since I don't usually see so many slings in one spot
Speaking of which, Karen, I have Scarlet in the Ergo right now while making dinner!

Sorry to hear about more sickies - been a bad year for it. Scarlet is in her 7th week of daycare, and 7th week of random crap. Everyone's telling me how it'll boost her immune system. Um, yeah.

So. Time to go out again?
Did I miss the dinner-making thing?
Did you all see the other two MN mommas thinking of heading this way? Jess & I are the start of a revolution, I tell ya. That or the smart ones are wising (wizeing?) to the fact that MN weather SUCKS!

Blah blah blah blah......

Does anyone know what a buyer's agent's commission usually is in NM? We found this lovely fsbo, but the guy is a total flipping pro and we would feel like deer in the headlights without some legal help...

Didn't make it to the park, 3yo is still fighting eye infection (how the heII do you get drops in a 3yo's eye?!) and Summit park is such a long, hard drive that time of day. Sorry I missed meeting so many cool mamas

Oh, babywearing, something I love! Never tried the Ergo, we have a Patapum. I currently have some things on craigslist, and am selling a Hot Mama wrap if anyone's interested. Instructions are always free!

I assume it's just half of the standard commision -- so 3%. I know a Realtor in ABQ who would probably be more than willing to help you out for the 3%. She's not a buyer's agent, per se, but she definitely acts like one. She does real estate as a part-time gig and really isn't too interested in getting the "best deal" for herself. So in essence, she's willing to get the best price and navigate all the legal stuff for you, even if it means her commission is a little less in the end. We used her to buy our house and she's great! PM me if you're interested.

I've recently been running into lots of people originally from Wisconsin. It's like everyone realized snow isn't so much fun when you have LOTS of it all at once. LOL, I wish dh would realize this! I love snow, but would settle for the amount we get in the Sandia's.

We haven't done MNO kitchen thingy yet because I've been sick. Maybe next week? We're finally on the mend!

The buyer agent commision is 3%. We have a great agent we worked with until we bought from my MIL.
Xmas - I think we've been emailing about the mei tai! Small world. I want a different back carrier than the Ergo, but am a little mystified by it all. I have 3 ring slings that I'm pretty tired of. (good golly, just realized i have FIVE carriers right now!)

Any suggestions for Saturday activities?
I taught babywearing in my last town, would be happy to share it with you, Wackadoo! Email me anytime.
You are invited to a baby (and child) wearing demonstration! Monday, April 10, at 10:30am at Rotary Park, Albuquerque. Carriers covered include soft-structured carriers, pouches, ring slings, mei tais and wraps. Please email me with any questions. Hope to see you there!

Wackadoo - I have a mei tai that I don't use anymore that you're more than welcome to try out
Let me know if you're interested.

What's the scoop for tomorrow playgroup? Anyone ready to switch to mornings? 9:30 too early? It's already so hot and bright by 11, DS and I have been doing the outdoor thing early in the day. It also sounded like some people have schedule conflicts on monday mornings ... perhaps there is another day of the week that works better for all? Any thoughts....

Monday's are horrible for us now that dh is a manager. Without fail he always has 2 meetings on Monday (one is always @ 2 and the other varies but this week is at 10.) I'd love to switch to another day. Right now Matthew doesn't know what is schedule for the week is, so I'm no help. And mornings do sound good.
We can usually be out and about by 10 am - any morning but friday is good for us right now
I was actually going to put on the bwing demo at the park this Monday AM, and thought it would combine into a playgroup.

I'm just bummed not to see more babywearers in Abq, and thought maybe this would spark some interest, same as it did in my old town. I didn't realize so many mommas did babywear so much. I must be looking in the wrong places.

XmasEve - bwing demo/playgroup at Rotary Park sounds fabulous, we'll be there if we can (DS is teething, napping is ?? who knows when??).

I second a-sorta-fairy-tale -- where is Rotary Park?
