ABQ midwife question

I talked to someone on this forum about some ABQ midwives. My folks came into town so we took a break form midwife searching and now i can't remember if we talked about Barbara Pepper. Any one know anything about her? She is the only one who does homebirths who i can't find an email for. I am emailing our first round of pics with wuestions before we go in to interview the ones we like best.

I have not used Barbara, but she has a great reputation and is super nice. She may not have an email she uses? I don't know for sure.

I used Mary Lou at GentleBirth (and Julia, who no longer practices). I love her!

I emailed Mary Lou with some questions and was very impressed by her response. We still have to do some face to face interviews. ANyone have anyone they do *not* recomend?

I had Jenny West of Albuquerque Homebirth. I love her. She specializes in waterbirths, and is a hypnobirthing instructor [which I highly recommend].
I was fortunate to have Barb Pepper attend my daughter's birth as well. It was the first time I met her, but I have nothing but positive things to say about her! She's very loving and was very helpful.

I haven't heard anything negative about any of them. I also know people love Dusty. Don't know her last name.

I used Marylou in April (we could have discussed this todya!) and loved her. I also had a great feeling about Jenny, but didn't want to travel up to 4Hills for my appointments. I've heard good things about both Barb & Dusty. Hard to go wrong! Oh, I also know Marylou's apprentice and she's freakin cool.

I'm currently using Barb Pepper. I *love* her. I would consider meeting her before finalizing your decision. Emails are good but it really was the good vibes I got from sitting down with her, since pretty much all of the midwives we interviewed had the same answers to the "policy" type questions. Either way you can see who you click with the most. I do know of one I would definitely NOT recommend but I will PM you.

oh, another one I would recommend is Jaymi McKay. A number of my friends have used her and LOVED her. It was a tough call between her and Barb. Let me know if you'd like her phone number, I don't know that she has an email either but I have her card.

Hi there!

Jenny West was our midwife for our little guy in December - I really liked her. I needed someone to inspire confidence in me and she was the one.
