I never had this with my previous two pregnancies but this time around I am in lala land. I know that I'm just preoccupied with being pregnant, mentally preparing for birth, nesting, etc. but it sure makes it hard to work.

This weekend I accidentally stole two tomatoes from the grocery store. Paid for everything else I had... walked out and when I went to open the car door, realized I had a produce bag with tomatoes in my left hand.

I called when I got home and talked to the store manager... offered to pay over the phone, offered to pay the next time I was in... he just said "enjoy the tomatoes and thanks for the call".

The next day I left a stick of butter on top of the stove (while dinner was in the oven baking) to soften. Forgot about it. Totally. Dh came home and asked me if I'd meant to melt a stick of butter all over the top of the stove.

Anyone else living in lala land with me? I'd love to hear the stories. Please tell me it wears off sometime. Please. Otherwise I'm afraid I'm going to forget one of my kids somewhere at some point.

Yeah - the other day..wait what was I posting about???

Oh - I was picking up a co-sleeper from a new friend, and I couldn't fit it in my small SUV. Didn't fit in the back seat, couldn't fit it in the cargo area. We tried her small SUV. No luck. Well, I said, I don't live too far away, I'll go back home, pick up dd's red wagon and pull it back home. Just then I remembered that THE SEATS FOLD DOWN. DUUUUUUHH. Very embarassing.

I am so embarrassed about my brain! I've been suffering with this really terribly since about week 28. It probably started before then but is progressively getting worse. And since I know about it, I'm also worrying more about what I might be forgetting.

As someone else said - I don't trust my driving. Everything else may be embarrassing but this does concern me...

I know I have lots and lots of examples but I can't even remember those right now (and I'm not trying to be funny).

Last week my dh and I went into Belfast to pay a bill. Dh waited in the car while I ran in (well, waddled in). I got my change, counted it and put it in my bag or at least I thought I did. Someone came out of the back to say hi to me. I ended up putting half my money and left the other half £80 (about $160) sitting on the counter. It was a day or two before I realised. I couldn't figure out where I spent it or put it. I got a letter from the shop to come collect my money. Thank God, they noticed.

Oh man, I am the dumbest person when I'm pregnant. I'd share stories, but I can't remember any

I also drop everything.

I made it to work today, went about my business, and when I went to the bathroom an hour later, I realized I completely forgot to put on any makeup whatsoever. Probably not that big of a deal, but no one there had ever seen my blonde eyebrows and eyelashes without tint/mascara. I was completely white. Oh well...

My problem isn't so much the absent-mindedness, although that's there too, it's the clumsiness. I have knocked over so many glasses full of stuff. I guess my kids don't feel so bad now.

I tipped over ds' glass of milk on the table at supper last night. He wanted to get down and help me clean, so I gave him a cloth. Then he told me he wanted to get more milk and dump it out and clean it again
I was like "ummmmm no I didn't DUMP it out, I spilled it, it was an accident!" He loves to clean

i've had soo many accidents involving myself and other objects that have caused harm to my body that im serously not leaving my house again until i have this baby!

just a reminder to everyone that i have been stuck in my house for 10 days now with the stitches in the foot and having to depend on crutches to get around (hahahahahahahaha......soo not working)

phew...I'm so glad to see I'm not alone in La-la land.

I completly forgot my address the other day...I introduced myself to someone with just my last name, and couldn't think of my first...I continuously am putting things away in the wrong places (cereal in the fridge, rice milk in the cabinet)...My hubby found a potatoe in the silverwear drawer the other day and has been teasing me ever since ( I've also developed a problem with stashing food around the house)

And I can't even count the number of times I've tried to boil some water for pasta or rice and ended up boiling all the water away...

My absentmindedness is aphasia...words are just...GONE. Simple, everyday words, nouns, just won't come and I end up giving a lame description of the item that I'm trying to name. Like "I was crossing the street the other day and while I was in the....uh, the...you know, the place where you walk to the other side of the street...yeah! the CROSSWALK".
I mean come on!

On the clumsiness note, however, I've had the opposite experience. I've developed cat-like reflexes. If I fumble something, my hand just shoots out to right where it's falling and catches it. The other day I opened the freezer and just *heard* something falling and before I could even see past the door I snatched out of the air a pint of ice cream that had tumbled out. Crazy!
