I'm having a girl. Because my face is broken out. You know, because when you're having a boy you look fabulous, and when you're having a girl you look ugly. I laughed and said something like "Gee, thanks." But she doesn't stop there, either. She spends the next several minutes asking me "Why are you so broken out?" "Are you eating something different? Using different soap..." She just goes ON and ON. I was giving non-committal replies and basically ignoring her, but she didn't get the hint. Usually I can just ignore her, but man, she sometimes really gets under my skin. One of these days I just want to turn around and ask her "I don't know, Mom, why do you think you're so rude?"

I might've done it today, except she gets a free pass because it's her birthday. And we'll be seeing her again tonight... so I need to vent here so I can smile sweetly this evening.

Ugh Some people think they have free reign to say whatever they like when you're pregnant.

My MIL can be pretty insulting too at times. But it's so subtle that you're left wondering if you really should be upset by it. Weird

I would tell her "it's caused by stress, and you are stressing me out!"

Or "You know, I never think I look bad until I'm around you and your comments make me acutely aware of how ugly I must be! THANKS!"

But that's just me.

Also - I'm having a girl baby, and I gots nothing as far as zits go, so I say it's another old wive's tale.

Nobody has "told" me what I am having yet. Luckily.
