I just signed up for a boot camp fitness camp starting Jan 2nd which runs 5 early early mornings a week for 4 weeks. Yikes!

I've really been wanting to challenge myself more lately and really work hard for a specific time period. Guess I'm going to get what I asked for!

Has anyone done a boot camp before?

I just finished a boot camp last month. it was 6 weeks, 3 times a week. It really kicked my butt into gear. I want to do it again when it's offered in the spring. The workouts were TOUGH and I was challenged beyond what I was doing on my own.

This is what I'm hoping for and needing. My only (little) worry is when I work out hard I put on bulk (just my body type) and I so want to get lean but not bulked. I've seen a lot of the photos from the camp and some women in the 4 weeks do put on mass and others get very slim. I know where I fall when it comes to what my body does. But that's just a little distraction and I am looking forward to the camp.

It seems the one I've signed up for gets a lot of repeat campers. Maybe it becomes an addiction?

Healthier than smoking! You'll have to tell us what it's like!

The one I did gets alot of repeat campers too. I think it does become somewhat of an addiction. I know that I am more motivated than before to keep working out and improving my fitness level!

Tomorrow at 5:30 am I finally kick off my boot camp. I am a bit worried about being behind the fitness level of other participants (this is always a worry when I start any new class - I'm a worrier) and nervous about just how hard I'll be worked the first day but overall I'm really excited and hoping to enjoy the next month.

I'll keep popping in here with updates. At least this is an easier week with only 3 classes and then the weekend. Full week next week.

Day 2 down and I'm loving it! Yesterday was our fitness test (number of push up in a minute, sit-ups in a minute, how long you can hold plank position) so we have something to measure against when we do them again at the end of the 4 weeks.

Today we used kettlebells. Has anyone used them before? They're amazing. We did both upper and lower body work with them and I'm really feeling it this evening. But it feels good to have that initial hurt again. I know it won't last long as my body adjusts to the training.

Tomorrow we have our shuttle run/ beep test. I feel like I'm back in high school gym class with this one. We'll retest at the end of the 4 weeks.
