Thanks! That is the second time Purex has been suggested (I posted on two different chat boards). I guess I am heading to the store after nap time.

Oh, I have a front loader....should I get Purex HE or regular and cut the amount more?

I use regular Tide powder, but I have a top-loader. Happy washing!

Why can't you use the Tide on your diapers?

Do you have baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) in the house? I used to wash DS' diapers with JUST baking soda (I guess about a half cup per load- I would sprinkle it into the dry pail as the diapers piled up to minimize odor, then not add anything else at all at wash time, and they came out fine. I also used white vinegar in the rinse cycle.)

I would use baking soda and white vinegar. We usually use Charlie's, but in a pinch, this combo works like a charm! We have a FLer, too, and I use about 3/4 of a cup of vingar and a few tablespoons of BS, in a hot water wash. You probably won't even need to go to the store, either!

Thank you all so much for your answers! Unfortunately I read the last few after I started a load! DH brought home some Planet. I used 1 tbsp (1/4 the amnt on the bottle) but I think it may be too much since there are quite a few suds in the wash cycle. I set the washer to pre-wash, sanitary (extra hot wash/cold rinse), extra rinse, water plus (to add water to load), heavy soil (to add wash time), high spin. The washer showed a wash time of 2 hours 23 min!! Maybe I could cut out the heavy soil next time unless they are really dirty. I am going to watch the rinse cycle to see if I need to do another one.
