I had my 32-week MW appt yesterday and I'm not thrilled - they can't determine the baby's position and think there's a good chance it's breech; my b/p has risen a bit to 120/70 (it's been running 100/60 for most of the pregnancy), and I gained 8 lbs. in 2 weeks, which means I might hit 200 lbs. again this pregnancy (though they got a new scale, so who knows how much I really gained, KWIM?).

I just feel discouraged and upset...can someone talk me down?

Did somebody different take your BP?? I wouldn't worry about that one (worrying will just make it worse) did you have BP issues with your first?? Just remember the things you need to look for headache, swelling, etc. and then let that one go.

The weight gain could be fluid- or the scale. I've been gaining a lot, too. I have strict orders to walk every day no matter what. I know I haven't been exercising or eating as I should be recently. Can you look back over the past 2 weeks and see if there are any changes you could make that could slow the weight gain. And I think you need to just get the number 200 out of your head. I was so freaked out when I went over 200 with dd, this time I'm right around that number, too. I didn't lose all the weight from her before I got pg so it was way easier to get there this time. But you can't really do anything about it right now and it is just a number.

as for breech baby....go to the spinning babies website. My little one was breech up until my 32 week appointment. I spent a lot of time last week trying different positions and talking to her to get her to turn. She still isn't very well engaged- keeps wanting to go transverse, so I am trying to continue all the positions to keep her head down. She literally turned on Sunday evening and my 32 wk appt. was Monday! There is still time for your baby to turn. You just may have to give her some help!! Hang in there. Everything will be fine!

Thanks for the reassurances - I was considering starting some of the spinning babies exercises, I'm just a little concerned because they aren't sure from palpation that baby is breach, just thinking it's likely. However, the MW did say that once babies went head down they usually stayed, so it wasn't likely that I was going to move the baby into a breech position.

As for the b/p, with my first my b/p was fine all during the pregnancy and then skyrocketed when my water broke, and I ended up with mag sulfate and pit...trying to avoid that like the plague.

Weight gain - the weather's been lousy, so I haven't been outside with DS playing baseball and football for hours every day! RAIN RAIN GO AWAY!

Aww, I'm sorry! If it's any consolation I hit 200 pounds too.... I wasnt that far off from it to begin with though. Have you tried the blue ribbon baby diet for BP? It helped me when I had pre-e with my son. http://www.blueribbonbaby.org/ifyoua...utrition.shtml

Hopefully the baby isnt breech and they just couldnt feel it? Where do you feel the most kicking? Do you feel hiccups down low? I'd try the spinning babies too. I'm doing that too cause she thinks I have another posterior baby.

Hang in there mama!

Just wanted to say - I'm dealing with all the same things. I gained about 10 lbs. in 3 weeks recently (and I'm close to the 200 mark too), have higher blood pressure than is ideal, and the baby is still breech. I'm planning on doing the spinning babies exercises and relax much more over the next couple of months to try and avoid my blood pressure from going up further.

Your bp doesn't seem all that bad - there's still a long ways to go to hit the 140/90 mark, which they are usual monitoring for. Just do what you can to relax, eat well, get some exercise and to enjoy your baby. I'm sure everything will be just fine.

My blood pressure is now the same as your was today and it was been great so far. I wonder why the hike, but I am sure it is just because we are getting closer and closer.

As for breech issues, do you have a chiropractor? Chiropractors trained in the Webster method can fix breech babies most of the time. It would be worth it to investigate one in your area. This would be the most hassle-free method to deal with it, no forced turning, etc.

I never saw one before the pregnancy, and I always leave with my pelvis feeling great.

Relax and don't stress about the numbers too much. Did you feel well going in to your appt or did you feel like you haven't been takling care of yourself? Those are the most important measures of good health.
