Does anyone know of a safe way to treat them? I have a few on my face and as I'm getting older, they are becoming more apparent. Mineral makeup and what not doesn't seem to be covering them up. I've heard about Mederma, but is it safe to use?

Any ideas/suggetions?

I read on another thread that rosehip seed oil helps fade scars. I've only been applying it for about a week so I can't personally vouch for it, but since it's also supposed to fade wrinkles I figured it couldn't hurt to try! I bought mine at Market Street.

Calendula is supposed to be good for scarring. I'd recommend a salve made w/ olive oil, beeswax, and calendula...or you could try (not sure if it works or not, though) using a calendula infusion.

I've had great luck w/ calendula salve and scars. Weleda makes some good calendula skin products

so I picked up calendula oil with extra virgin olive oil yesterday. it is distilled by a local herbalist. I am using it twice a day after cleansing, and an acne spot treatment but before my moisturizer. Do you think that is enough or too much? I didn't really feel greasy, but it definitely bordered it.

I would love to read about that

Ok, I posted on your other thread about acne but I'll tell you what I used to get rid of the scars.

If you have raised or textured scars (including pitted) use Derma E Scar Gel, it has onion extract in it which aside from being antibacterial, helps reorganize collagen (which in disorganized in scar tissue) to be flat and smooth. It is all natural. It smoothed my scars after about one month of use.

I used a toner with papaya and kojic acid on the dark scars. If you have hyperpigmented areas you have to religiously use sunscreen on those areas. I put sunscreen on a qtip and dotted only the scars with it. I got the kojic acid toner on Ebay from a lady who makes it. It was cheap and it worked.

I personally would use it once or twice a day. I'm not sure, really, what is recommended, but in order to cut down on the greasiness, I might rub it in really, really well.

I bought mine at a local health/pharmacy but you could buy it from www.dermae.net or on ebay. They actually had one on Ebay really cheap a few days ago, something like 11.50 w/free shipping. I paid $22 for the bottle. I think even drugstore.com carries it as well as almost any health food store.

I now use it as a moisturizer with my toner even though the scars are gone. I plan on getting one of the other derma e gel moisturizers but I haven't done it yet. The scar gel works as a decent light moistururizer but really shines in getting rid of the textured scars. I had 2 pea sized lumps under my skin where the pimples were and they were gone 3-4 weeks of rubbing scar gel on there 2x a day.
