I have a very active child. He will actually climb all over the place and switch back and forth between my breasts. It is actually pretty amusing. It looks exhausting to me but that's his style. One day we were lying down on the couch and he walked his feet to the top of it while nursing! Funny stuff.<br><br>
Do you have an acrobtic nurser or breast switcher?

DS's new thing is when we're trying to nurp (nurse + nap), he's be laying beside me on his side... then he turns onto his tummy... then he crawls a bit so his butt is in the air... then he crawls a bit more so he's kinda standing on his head. Very odd. I try to tell him it's not a "crawl through" window, but he doesn't seem to get it yet. =)

Eli likes to see how far away from me he can get while nursing; he particularly enjoys standing & backing away a bit while I'm sitting or pushing his body out so he's almost at a 90 degree angle while we're lying down. It seems like he only does it when he's awake and wants to stay that way. When he wants to go to bed or have a nap, he snuggles extra close. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/love.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="love">

My 15 mo ds is that same way. It makes me laugh to read these descriptions. My ds's acrobatics are when he's tired but wants to stay awake, nursing to get his mood realigned. He'll slide off my lap on his tummy, feet hanging toward the floor and hang on as if he thinks suspending by the boob is an option. He tries to stand on my lap, doubled over so his mouth is by his feet, bum up in the air by my cheeks, it's hilarious. But we all love it!

Totally! She goes back and forth to each breast. She puts her foot in my mouth. She has even nursed upside down! She is very acrobatic!!!!!<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngbiggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="orange big grin">

DD (6 months) has just started doing this in the last week. It usually seems to be when she's more or less done & wants to play, or when I get home from work & she can't decide whether she wants to eat or play. SHe starts on her side, then twists onto the stomach, then sticks the butt up, then pops off & on again, then gets up on all fours & bounces around, then (if I'm completely uncovered) turns & goes for the top breast & eats for a minute b/f bouncing off again.<br><br>
Hysterical, but then I told Mom about it, and she said "maybe she's ready for a bottle." When I pointed out that she gets bottles already (I work & we have to supplement) she said "I mean permanently."<br><br>
Sigh. But I just sent her a long email explaining how long we hope to BF & why, and hopefully I've headed her off at the pass...<br><br>
Anyway, since DD just started doing this I'm very interested in seeing what contortions she comes up w/ as she gets even more mobile!
