So, 9 times out of 10 my DS will not lie down for a dipe change. I have lots of PFs and would like to be using them but just can't figure out how to get them on him and snappi'd while he's standing up, bending over, reaching for stuff, trying to run away - you get the picture. Any advice?

TIA.

I never changed my babies standing up. I feel like they have to get clean and the only way I could clean them (being girls) was to have them lie down so I could clean every part. KWIM? So I lay them down and put my legs over theirs so they can't roll and squirm. Both of them got used to it and Nitara doesn't fight it anymore. She did about the time she learned to walk but not much anymore. Now she will willingly lie down for a change when I ask her to.

I insist my 14 m/o lay down. I find it easier to pin since I can do one side, he can squirm a bit, then I do the other. If he just won't lay down for you you could just trifold in a snug cover for a while. It's not the trimmest, but it'd be easier than trying to Snappi standing up.

I had to do the same as Darshani - if dd wouldn't sit still, which is most of the time, I had to lay her down and put my legs over her. It ticked her off, but I got that darn diaper on! Have you tried giving him a "nono" toy? Something that he really shouldn't have (like your keys or cell phone) but only give it at diaper changing time? That worked for awhile for us.

My strategies to get DS to lay down and stay still for diaper changes:

* bribe him by offering him something forbidden to play with during the diaper change (like my wallet), or saying we can do something fun after the change (like going outside)
* say, "hey, let's count how many seconds it takes mommy to change your diaper".... then we count together
* explaining that I need to get the pee/poopy off his bottom so it doesn't make an owie on his bottom
*... or we sing the snappi song:

Snappi, snappi, snappi snap
I'm Ethan _____ and I'm a snappi chap,
Snappi, snappi, snappi do
I've got a snappi, how 'bout you?

Cheesy, I know, but he likes it!

LOL that's cute :LOL! We lay on the bed upstairs usually and count the blades on the ceiling fan. All babes go through that at one time or another, Joe did for about 2 months but he's usually really good about it. I don't ever care if he runs naked for a while either so I just try to wipe him while he's playing and then we lay back down for a second to put the new one on. It's like a 3 step process but it works
