i have one of those tummies that you see on Dr. 90210...

I am small myself & had a very big baby. I have the abdominal separation, as well as a large flap of skin that just hangs.

Is there any way that I can exercise some of this away? I know that all of it will not go away. (I have literally hundreds of stretch marks- too numerous to count). But I really do not want to get a tummy tuck but it is looking as if I may have to. The flap of skin gets uncomfortable.

I am wondering if I can tone the upper part of my stomach to raise that flap a bit?

I'd love to know! It is so yucky to look at but then I look at my sweet big babies and don't regret a thing! Doesn't mean I love the belly though! LOL

Hi. I've had pretty good success with T-Tapp and skin brushing. I gained a whopping 60-70 lbs with my youngest (stopped weighing; let the midwife look). One of the exercises in T-Tapp is called "organs in place" and is similar to a technique my last (homebirth) midwife used called "uterine lift". It's helped a lot w/my sagging belly and urinary incontinence.

After I did the T-tapp dvds for a while, I took a class and found out that the instructor is a home birth mom! I first heard about T-Tapp at an unschooling conference, and have since found out quite a few homebirthies/homeschoolies do it.

Not only does T-Tapp really amp your metabolism (by creating a strong core), it really pumps your lympathic system without bouncing so milky ta-tas don't get bruised. I started out really large, partly b/c I developed severe hypothyroidism, and was a tight size 22. I got down to a 16. Currently I'm back up to an 18 b/c I was sick w/my thyroid for a few months and didn't exercise at all and got in a bad eating cycle (too tired to prepare food), but I'm back going in the right direction again!

I probably sound like a salesperson, but I'm really just an average ap/homebirth/homeschool mama who's "sold" on this system.

Edited to add: I'm freaking out ... Jenn, didn't I just read your HBAC story on iVillage? It has to be you; on your own bday! Congrats!

Is there a place online that sells the T-Tapp system/videos?

Callanetics is the most wonderful thing for the abdominals, it really really really tightens that non tightenable post baby belly. Be sure to really pay attention to your abs though, and if you need to in the beginning use your hands to sort of push the muscles together when you're using them so your belly does not bulge out.

You can't get rid of stretch marks short of surgery, but dry skin brushing really does make a difference in the appearance.

well, not to sound like a sales person, but I've been t-tapping for 3 weeks, the first 2 just with the book, and this one with the DVD's (the book as a 30% coupon for the dvd's if you mail it in), and i've lost like 5 in off my waist alone, 20 inches off everything measured.

I'm breastfeeding a 2yo, and NOT dieting in any way shape or form.

its a fairly bizarrely effective program.

there's a bunch of try before you buy stuff at t-tapp dot com.

Well, I am in a similar situation. my tummy has so much loose skin!!!!

(secretly hoping for a tummy tuck after number 3, but yk, what can you do?)

I have to admit I am a Denise Austin fan: She is just so dang cute and peppy and always saying encouraging things. Since the weather is yucky I have been doing yoga inside everyday. I am really liking Yoga Buns right now. There are actually alot of moves that use the stomach muscles as well. I so love that about yoga. I am into videos lately because I can schedule a chunk of time, rather than self-paced moves. I love pilates as well. When you do it everyday, you see results!

I just love how she can say "Squeeze those buns, if you don't squeeze em, no one else will" and you almost fall over fom laughing. Or another favorite: "Let's relaxe into plank" ????????
