Here's the situation:

I am a nursing mom of a DS who is 26 months old, and I haven't had a period since he was born. I take low-dose bc pills, and I'm pretty consistent.

In the last two or so weeks, I've gained almost 4 lbs (a BIG deal for someone whose weight is typically about 90-92), very fatigued. I've done the ept test and had negative results, but something just feels *off*. It could be the return of my period, but I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience, and if so, the end result.

Should I just go see my doctor?

Any words of wisdom would be so very welcome!

It could be your AF gearing up to return. I know for me, when AF finally returned after almost 3 years (I was BF'ing too) I thought I was for SURE pg I felt so weird, bloated, crampy, you name it. I can't tell you how much money I spent on pg tests and they were all negative

Do you know when you are ovulating and if you BD'd during or around that time?

I would say wait another few days and test again, or to completely ease your mind, go see your Dr and request a beta, that will tell you for sure!

HTH!

I've polled a couple of other friends, and decided that if I don't see AF within the next week or so I'll try a pg test again. Thinking back, I know that there have been a few times when I haven't taken pills right on time, and with low-dose I know that can be an issue. Also, I had been on the pill for YEARS before my DS, and got pregnant within about six weeks of going off--my system, apparently, is gung-ho for reproduction.

Thanks for the help!

AF didn't return for me until dd was 2.5 years, and that ONLY after inducing it back with Vitex to start TTC #2. I felt off for a long time before she finally came back, and I did gain a few lbs, I'm also small like you, and do not gain weight easily. Wishing you great luck.
