I'm looking at jogging strollers in the $300-400ish range (Cdn$) and looking for some advice about brands. The two that seem to be most recommended are BOB and Chariot. I tried them both today (Bob Revolution and Chariot Cheetah) and I'm liking the BOB better so far - it's lighter, you can switch the wheel to swivel, and they don't want you to buy a bunch of attatchments (I don't bike that much but I run 3x a week.) So, a couple questions for you guys:

- Does my price range seem reasonable?

- What do you think of your BOB/Chariot?

- Are there any other brands I should be looking at in that range?

I have the BOB Revolution and LOVE IT!!! I have never tried the Chariot but I have a bicycle trailer by them and their quality is outstanding as well. The ability to either have the front wheel and the BOB fixed or free is priceless though. I have been using it since my son was about 5 months old (walking at first of course). He is now 29 months old and it is going strong still.

Have you checked out the website, joggingstroller.com? They sell a lot of different brands of joggers, plus they have a ton of helpful information. There are also reviews on the website. It helped me make a decision when I bought mine 4 yrs ago.

I have the BOB ironman and I LOVE it I don't think you can go wrong with a BOB. My neighbors have a BOB revolution and love it as well.

I looked on joggingstroller.com. I find that site a bit overwhelming and they don't ship here, but some good advice. The Revolution and the Chariot both got good reviews. Babyjogger also came up. I think I'll take a trip to the mall to see what's there - I've only looked in sports stores so far.

We like the BOB better and the Chariot is more expensive, but it's a local company so a lot of people have them and sell them used for $250-400. If a Chariot comes up below $300 on Craigslist I'll pounce, but I'm still checking out other brands.

Has anyone tried a Schwinn or an Instep? They got OK reviews on joggingstroller.com and are more like $150-200. They don't seem to be in the same class as the BOB though so I'm a bit skeptical.

I have a "beater" instep and it works fine for me. I have taken it on runs as long as 6 miles...it's not as smooth as a babyjogger (haven't tried a BOB, but have heard they are awesome) but like I said, it works just fine. I got it used for $70 and have used it on and off for close to 4 years.

That being said, if you have the $$, I'd hold out for at least a used BOB or babyjogger.

Yeah, we can actually afford the new BOB Revolution at $405, but that's the absolute limit. Theny don't come up used much though. If I saw one I would be all over it! I'm thinkng this might be worth holding out for quality since DH and I both run and we're planning on at least 2 babies...plus this will be our only stroller...we don't use one now but we might need one when DD gets too big for the sling.

We have the BOB Ironman in a double and it works well.

We also had a single cheap Expedition that probably cost $100 new and I got second hand for $70. It is a lot heavier, but also worked pretty well. I find that it is the wind catching that makes it difficult to run much more than the weight of the stroller itself.

We just got a Trek GoBug for the bike, which came with a jogger attachment. If I would have known about it before, I would have just bought that. Our bike shop sold it to us for $400 cash for the top model so it have all the frills, plus the stroller attachment. You should consider it.

I would sell my BOB now since I have it, but we brought it on the beach a lot and it is rusted in a couple spots so I probably wouldn't get much for it so it wouldn't be worth it.

Where are you located? I think I still have the Expedition and you can have it if you are near me, provided you want a single.

I'm in Calgary, Canada. If you live close to the beach it's not looking good

I have a TikeTech ATX and I LOVE it. I found it online for under $200 with free shipping. I really like it, but have nothing to compare it to. My friend has a chariot and loves hers, but I just didn't/don't have that kind of $$ laying around personally.
