Do you lay there for twenty minutes with your legs propped up?

Do you just jump up and run to the bathroom?

Or somewhere in between.

This is our first month of trying, so it's a little funny to just lay there afterwards - we're so used to just jumping up to "clean up"

hmm well on the days we are not near O or after I get up and clean up.. the O days I lay there for about 10-15 min with a pillow under my hips then get up and clean.. Dh cleans up no matter what.. To pass the time we just lay in bed and watch TV. On FF boards someone posted they had to pee right after since they get UTI's and so they put in a instead cup see here and go pee right after.. I may try this trick and see if it works. I hate washing up later.

Well, I'm TTC as a surrogate, so the only way I get to DTD around O is with a syringe, lol! After I deposit the swimmers up near my cervix I'll put an Instead Cup in to help keep them up where they need to be. I leave it in over night then take it out in the morning.

I was wondering the same thing! I'm also used to jumping up to clean up, but now that we are really trying I just lay there.

I heard that if you have a tilted uterus it's best to lay on your tummy, anyone know if that is true?

I was told I have a tipped/tilted uterus after I had Madison, I've never had any issues, but I was told one excerise you can to help it tilt the correct way was to pull your knees to your chest. Wonder if that would help?

My nursing instructor actually said somthing about this the other day, that depending on how your uterus is shaped and how it tilts you can aid in conception by lying on your tummy/back/hips in the air etc. I have a tilted uterus but have conceived twice without any acrobatics though...

Me, too...I didn't even hear about the laying on your stomach thing until after I had DS, and I didn't do it with my second pregnancy. And it doesn't really make sense to me, since if your uterus is tilted backwards wouldn't laying on your back make the swimmers go downhill? Or is my anatomy picture in my head way off?

The part you're getting confused is the cervix. If the uterus is tipped down the cervix is tipped up, and all the semen pools *under* the cervix. Once the sperm's inside, it won't fall out, but it has to get out of the vagina first.

So is there anyway to tell if you have a tilted uterus (and therefore a tilted cervix) from self examination?

Ah, thank you! Totally makes sense. So like I said I had no problem getting pregnant twice, but we're actually TTC for real now so I'm trying to do everything right to make this go as quickly as possible. Guess I'll be laying on my stomach!

Okay, hope this is not TMI for you but actually if you don't climax then instead of just laying there or jumping up (which either is okay, I hear they really have nothing to do with your egg getting fertilized) you should actually stimulate yourself to climax. After he does the DTD if you can make yourself orgasm either by him doing it, you doing it, a vibrator or any method you choose I read that your cervix acts kind of like a vaccum and will grab so to speak the sperm and help force it up there. I believe it does help. I noticed that the first time I conceived I did that and I was PG on that try. Had a mc and the next few months we were TTC I didn't do it. But just this last month we tried the climax thing and I am pretty sure I am pg now. I have not gotten a BFP but I am 4 days late and I think it is very likely that I am. Maybe it is coincedance but maybe not. I would try it if I were you. Couldn't hurt. If nothing else it makes for fun.
