If I remember correctly from a previous article it was a Coptic Cross.

I wasn't sure about the significance (well, I knew it was associated with Orthodoxy) but if it is more "mandated" than in other Christian sects, that could alter my opinion on the subject.

Thank you for that information.

I was wondering why the current article was reporting it as a "crucifix" when the original picture was (if I remember correctly) a Coptic Cross. Hmmm...

This was really bothering me, so I went back and found the original thread:

Okay, I was under the (mistaken) impression that Coptic Crosses have equal length legs (which is why I was identifying that as Coptic). Apparently, though, they are generally highly ornate which that one definately is not. Either way that is definatley not a crucifix (which would have the crucified body of Christ on it).

Does anyone know what the crosses are that have equal length "arms"? Generally, Christian crosses have a longer "leg" on the bottom and then three shorter "arms" on top.
