Okay, I was under the (mistaken) impression that Coptic Crosses have equal length legs (which is why I was identifying that as Coptic). Apparently, though, they are generally highly ornate which that one definately is not. Either way that is definatley not a crucifix (which would have the crucified body of Christ on it).

TiredX2's link to the original thread an news article that shows the picture of the necklace in question certainly does not look like Alana's examples of coptic crosses.

I am glad that she cannot wear the cross necklace.

I do not quite understand how those who practice Orthodox can still wear crosses when no jewlery is permitted. I understand that it is a strong part of their faith and expressing it. But God never made it a requirement that people wear the cross. The cross is simply a symbol upon that which Jesus died on.
