Anyone interested in becoming a doula?

ALACE, the Association of Labor Assistants and Childbirth Educators, is hosting a workshop in Coventry, RI (near Providence) in late September. It is a three day long workshop on September 29-October 1, 2006 and at the end of the three days, you will be qualified to attend births as a professional doula. A professional doula makes between $300-$900 per birth, and each day the profession is making its mark on the medical field, blazing a path for progressive options for women's birth experiences.

Beyond the professional training, the workshop is an amazing opportunity to create community and learn from other wise women. I can speak from personal experience that this is more than a doula training, it is an empowering women training and my life has been changed forever since I took it.

The ALACE website is www.alace.org and if you want to get registered, you can call the ALACE office toll-free at 888.222.5223. Also, the local sponsor is available to answer specific questions. Her name is Kelly LaChance-Guertin and you can reach her at 401.826.8694.

Thanks,
Gina

yes, the cost of the workshop is $425.00. You can save some money if you pay the full fee before August 29th, the fee is $395.

Hope this helps, I hope to see some locals there. I will be there everyday!
