Many of you want to know what the deal is with milk donation. I started writing about it in my blog, and realized people still had questions because the answers weren't all in one place.

I've done my best to try and put it all in one post to make it easier for everyone to understand. It's long, but it's as complete as I could make it. I'm also updating my signature file so that it links to this page. Please ask questions if you still have some by the time you've finished reading.

Thanks.

I am still completely aghast at the rebuttal article to the breastfed or else article. They call themselves DOCTORS? do they work for a formula company or what? :

You know what? I don't know the answer to that question. What's really wrong with that article is that it cites very few studies and uses that handful of studies about breastfeeding and breastmilk to support their hypothesis. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of studies on breastfeeding and breast milk, countless papers, dissertations, and books written on the subject... I am really disappointed that they chose so few of them to base their "compelling" arguments on. It's a very dismissive way to do it, and it does make me wonder, too, if they received any funding from the IFC or anyone who profits off the sale of formula for reporting the "facts" with that spin.

Good question.
