Gah!

Just when I thought sleeping could not possibly become any more uncomfortable. I've had what seems to either be a mild cold or allergies for the past week or so. I hardly notice it at all during the day, but at night I have this feeling of a bubble in the back of my throat and this horrible burning/stinging. I'm sure it's post nasal drip and it's keeping me awake, in between my hourly visits to the toilet and the tossing and turning from my sore hips and pubic bone. I'm starting to dread bedtime.

Last night I moved to the recliner downstairs and it helped a little. I did sleep. However, I had the worst dreams I can recall this pregnancy. I had to climb back in bed with DH just to feel safe again.

I'm not one to medicate quickly, but I was really afraid of my allergy thing last month turning into an infection then a cough. A cough can trigger a bleed with placenta previa. So I took Benadryl and it was lovely. Between that and the neti pot I got over it pretty quickly and best of all I was able to sleep. Those 3 or 4 doses that I took over a few days are the only medication I've taken this pg and they were totally worth it.

I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for the advice. I just took ONE benadryl to see what it would do. About 30 minutes later I was able to actually blow my nose, productively, and that bubble in the back of my throat is gone
: I'll probably take another one before bed tonight and hope that makes a difference for me. I NEED some sleep!
