I'm assuming you asked someone at the school about accepting religious exemptions when they mentioned the medical exemption - what exactly did you say (and with whom did you speak) and what was their response. Did the school give you any indication that a religious exemption would be denied.

I would strongly suggest not going the medical exemption route unless you have a rock solid exemption and a doctor willing to write one for you. Medical exemptions can and do get challenged, often times on an annual basis. Based on what you wrote and what's considered a valid contraindication, a medical exemption would be a stretch . . . but may not be impossible.

Exactly which vaccines (and how many doses) has DD had? I know you said you weren't sure which vaccine/dose she was missing in your other thread, but you need to find out . . . not only so we can determine if any of the ingredients may be a potential contraindication, but you need to find out for sure which vaccines/doses she really "needs" in order to get into preschool for your state b/c you may be able to knock one or two off the list depending on NC laws.

She had your typical DTap, MMR, Hib, Hep B vax until age 9 months, where we discontinued. As per IL law, I don't have her record, so I would have to go to the doc to see. She didn't act like a religious exem. would be a huge deal, but said that if we have any evidence that they might medically harm her, then we should bring that in so that in case the religious exem is denied, we have a back up plan.

I just really need to get her in, this is the only place with a spot for her that isn't super expensive and far away from where I'll be.
