For those who have allergies or illnesses, do you think any of that could have been caused by, or at least made worse by, situation(s) from your past? I was exploring that thought last night and thought I'd ask. I'm beginning to think it does play a major part. Especially since I tend to hold things in and not talk about them or otherwise get them out.

I do think that illnesses can be caused by our physical bodies manifesting emotional issues. For example, just this past 10 days I have been in really bad pain due to muscle spasms in my back. They started right after an intense therapy session where I discussed stuff that was really uncomfortable and difficult for me to face. FWIW, I also have a friend who claims she suddenly became lactose intolerant because she was eating an ice-cream cone when the car she was riding in was involved in an accident. I am a big believer in the mind-body connection. If there are issues you are looking to overcome, you might look into the book by Louise Hay, "You Can Heal Your Body". It's a small book of affirmations that are meant to heal different aspects of our bodies when they manifest physical illnesses.

You are welcome Kim and tiny.

I should find my copy of it. I could use some help with these muscle spasms cuz they aren't going away as fast as they normally do. One is holding on tightly, pun intended. It's neat in the book because she even has things like the back separated out into sections and down to vertebrae. It's a small book and not really so much to read, but more as a self-diagnostic manual. Of course I'm not a doctor and it's not a substitute for a medical professionals advice, but it can't hurt you to have more positive thoughts.
