We have samples of Zytrec from the Ped. Guess I better throw them away.

Thanks! I looked at my Children's Tylenol (expired 03/09), my open Children's Benadryl (expired 08/09) and the new Children's Benadryl (RECALLED). The phone number they said to call though, said due to large call volume to call back later. I sure hope we don't need it before we have it. I like to have it on hand at all times, just in case.

We just got a prescription Zyrtec this past week for Conner. It's the real name, not the Zyrtec name. I have to go to the pharmacy anyway today. I am going to talk to the Pharmacist to see if this is recalled or not.

I think we have some Benadryl and Infant drops too. Gotta check on that.

Thanks for posting this! Zyrtec works the best for my son's allergies and we jsut bought a new bottle last week! We didn't go with the SF so it's not recalled...but the fact that the company had this happen makes me want to find a new option. And seriously, what are "particles" found in the medicine??

I am really sick over this one. I always buy brand name of this because of our allergy issues and here they are all messed up the same. Makes me angry and yes, now what to I use till this matter is resolved. Guess I will look for a store brand.

Lovely. I just gave my immune compromised DS a dose of Zyrtec an hour ago. Seriously, is nothing safe these days?!

The hold time was not bad at all. I had 3 products to give information for, listened tot the press release and finished the call in under 10 minutes.

They are sending out full replacement price coupons for the products. Said they will get here in 2-3 weeks and that the new products should be on the shelves at that time.

I am "okay" with the fact that I do have some benedryl that was not on the recall list but still worried that they will expand the list and I will still be up a creek

My confidence is rattled. I wonder if all parents feel as crushed about this as I do as an "Allergy Mom"? I just fell like this isn't JUST for seasonal issues. It *could* very well give me enough time to get my kid his epi pen or to the ER.

that's exactly how i feel. benadryl is so important to have at my finger tips due to ds sometimes sudden, severe and unexpected reactions. now i feel very vulnerable. i have used the bottle that is recalled with no obvious immediate problems. if i have no other substitute and he is having an acute reaction, i will feel like i have to give it to him as not giving it to him could have worse consequences. i do need to call the number and visit the pharmacy for other options first though

Every time I've called, they've said I had to call back, there's no option to hold. I guess I'll keep my expired one and use that if I need to. I also have Aller-tec, which is Costco's version of Zyrtec, for DS (which he's been using the last week, with allergy season). I wonder if that's being recalled too...

I asked the pharmacist about the generic prescription Zyrtec (has the technical name). It is not in the recall.

Is there a Benadryl type product made by CVS or Walgreens that you guys can get?

I have to check our bottle of Benadryl - luckily I haven't needed to give it since Christmas when we were around cats. I'll grab some generic at the drugstore to have on hand - it's just that they don't always have the dye-free version - hopefully they do now.

Adult Zyrtec is fine, right? I take it almost daily...

I believe we have the CVS generic Benedryl - and it might even be dye-free. (but then again, I am not home. My memory may be that CVS carries dye-free Benedryl.)

Is Children's Claritin or generic Claritin on the list?

CVS carries a dye-free generic diphenhydramine (Benedryl) that is not affected by the recall.
