Alpharetta/Roswell nursing mamas?

Hey ladies!

As if I don't have enough on my schedule - I thought I'd look for more!
Ds is 7 1/2 months old and I'm dying to meet some other local nursing mamas! A good deal of the people I know don't nurse past 6-7 months and/or it just didn't work for them....hence I feel alone!!

I'd love to make a mama playdate (with dc of course) if anyone is interested!!

Hi Ellie..

Have you gone to the N. Fulton or Cumming La Leche League groups at all? That's a great way to meet other nursing mamas in our area. I'm in Alpharetta and my at home kids are 3 and 16 months. I think you can find information on the groups and meeting times at www.lllusa.org/ga/areamap.htm

The N. Fulton Group meets on tuesday mornings in Roswell, as I recall..I'm sure someone else would know better! I'm involved in the Cumming group which now meets the 2nd wed. of every month at 10am. PM me for more information if you can't find it

Hi Ellie!
Meg's LLL suggestion is a good one. I'm a member of the North Fulton group. I attend the evening meeting on the first Monday at 6:30pm but there is also a morning meeting the first Tuesday at 10:30am.

There is also the North Fulton API group which meets the 3rd Saturday and the 3rd Tuesday. The API chapter also a playgroup that meets twice monthly. You can join the Yahoo group here.

Holistic Moms Network now meets in Sandy Springs on the last Tuesday of the month.

All of these groups have lots of nursing moms! We'd love to see you there.

Molly
ThankyouThankyouThankyou!!! I'll definitely check out those sites!!! Thanks again!!

Hi Ellie.
I'm not nursing again yet, but will be in September.
I do know of several other mamas in the Alpharetta/Roswell area on this board who certainly nurse past 6-7 months. I'd say most of us are on the "how many years" plan rather than months, kwim?

We have mentioned several times about getting together somewhere around here. Let's try and do it before it gets too hot! Anybody?

Paige,

I am more than open! Feel free to PM me if you like - looking forward to hearing from you!!

I'm another one who is not nursing now, but will be in August! Actually, my littlest one right now was weaned at 28 months in December b/c I needed a break after 4 1/2 years of nursing before the new bundle of joy gets here.

I'd love to get together! I haven't seen Meg in about a year now. I know the kids are adults now, aren't they?

Always up for a local get together, provided the wee ones are healthy
After the LLL conference next weekend is probably better for me as I've got a busy week 'round here, but I can always get out for an hour or two in a park and the kids love that anyway. Hmm..I like Roswell park and haven't been there in ages..or there is webb bridge, or wills park. Roswell Park may actually allow me to socialize instead of chase kids, but the others I'll be busy chasing them around and swinging them

Listen to me go on..
I'd be delighted to see both Paige and Lisa again! Both of y'all have the prettiest little girls around!

I live just around the corner from Roswell Area Park, and I'm nursing a 16-month-old son, and a daughter who will be 5 in August.

Meg, I know we've met before, at Webb Bridge with AIH.

)

anybody up for a playdate next week at Roswell park? or lunch picnic would actually work better for us? I know I'll see some of you at LLL but it would be fun to meet some new mamas as always. Monday or Tuesday?

Hi ladies - dh switched our internet service so I've been offline forever!! I'd still love to meet you all!! Please pm me if you are interested!!

Ellie
Yup, we have met Kristi..I have a picture of your son playing! He and Sophie were playing with a random basketball. That was before she started walking, which is why park socializing is tough for me now unless it's contained..I've been to more park days but I'm chasing kids so you never see me!
I would love a get together. The weather is great and the kids and I are outdoors most of the day. What days work for everyone?

I want to get together!!! My older dd is in elem. school until 2:20 everyday and my younger is in preschool for the next two weeks on Monday and Wednesday mornings. We're outside a lot, too. I love that my kids have the rag-a-muffin look: dirty fingernails, skinned knees, grass stains on everything. That's what kids should look like.
We do clean them up for special occasions, though.

Afternoons are always great here..
After May 23rd, any old day is fine too, that's Eli's last day of preschool.
