So, after being on this board awhile I've learned aluminum is a neurotoxin. Is aluminum hydroxide? It's one of the main ingredients in Maalox (I had a tummy ache monday night). In fact Maalox has 200 mg per dose. Is that dangerous? Or is it okay because it's ingested rather than injected?

You need to figure out th cause of the heart burn, not just a medicine to hide the symtom. I have found that when I upped my intake of probiotics that I don't have heartburn as much. You may also want to try slippery elm.

I'm fortunate not to suffer from heartburn in pregnancy, but I have friends who swear by papaya. I don't know in what form, perhaps someone with experience can help out. It acts as a digestive enzyme I think.

I swear by a shot of apple cider vinegar. Always gets rid of my heartburn.

Good luck. I hope you find some relief.

I've been cutting foods out to see if that helps...so far I've basically eliminated all grains bc they definitely cause it, but still have it...

Thanks for the links/suggestions....taking probiotics and digestive enzymes both...maybe I'll go buy a papaya.

I found small portions of ice cream helped lots..

I also ate much more potato which seemed to help for some reason, don't know why though.
