I have had 2 sections. One was with my twins, I was dupped into thinking I had to have one... My second was in stress and after failed biophysical profile and attempted induction for my VBAC, I ended up with emergency csection.

I now have 2 under my belt, and I know NO doctor will take me as a vba2c. I am having ALOT of trouble finding midwives in Michigan. Do all midwives do vba2c? Or just certain ones? I have looked on ICAN website, but the girl from our area has yet to get back with me. I am not pregnant yet, but want to have things set before I get pregnant again I want to have 10 kids And I cant if I have another csection, the risks of having 10 csections is high, and very low for vba2c, which is why I dont understand doctors not wanting to do them.

If anyone from Michigan has any info , please share. I want a natural, vaginal birth. I dont care if it is at home, or a birthing center. I just DONT want to be cut. I want to walk after. I will travel pretty far for care if I have too. This is very important to me. Please help Thanks in advance!

Sure you're a candidate! When I get preg. I will be planning a VBA4C! It took me MONTHS of really searching to find a mw, GA is birth hostile to the max! But I did, and so will you. Joining ICAN was a great 1st step. Also try posting in "Finding your Tribe." You'll find someone...good luck!

Good luck mama!

And don't rule out OBs or other care providers (though I can understand wanting to go with a midwife!)...in my region there are a few OBs who will attend mamas with multi-c/s but no midwives willing to do so.

Checking with ICAN and in the Tribal section here at mdc is a wonderful place to start. Also, you might have some luck with a local LLL group or AP group. And if you have a really crunchy ped or know of a local hospital with a good reputation for VBAC or natural birth the staff there may be able to help you find someone.

So good luck and welcome to MDC!

my "midwife" was a Dr... a D.O. shes amazing. I was a VBA4C and my birth ROCKED. My doc wasnt even scared when baby was breech near the end (she did flip though). I used Dr Kathy Kleinert in Livonia. If you're nowhere near metro Detroit she might be able to suggest someone in your area. She was exactly what I needed... calm, caring, confident.

what city are you in? i'm in lansing. i know most midwives will allow vba2c. mine's name is kate mazzara. my ob in okemos is dr russel. she had a vbac herself. i never got around to asking her if she did vba2c but it wouldnt hurt to ask. really you can tell them up front you want a vbac and see what they say or you can lie and say you want a section then "change your mind" at the end of the pregnancy. but i dont believe a michigan ob will force you into a section without a medical need if you blatantly say " i do not consent to another cesarian"

I am in MI, in the Grand Rapids area. I had 2 homebirths. LOVE my midwife. If you're in this area, you could consult her (and she you). She's with Birth Song Midwifery in Grand Rapids. She's in the phone book. Good luck!
