Just a question, beacuse I am beginning to think it is possibly abnormal.

I feel like I am urinating ALL of the time. I have easily averaged 3 trips a night to the bathroom, but during the day can go almost every hour and a half.

I have no pain, and don't think I have any sort of UTI. I also pee like I have a three year old's bladder. Tiny amounts.

It is interrupting my sex life, too, b/c intercourse is putting pressure down there also. My bladder seems to be all I can feel down there.

My midwife told me my uterus was tilted (as most women's are) "within the range of normal", but I wondered if certain positions of the uterus exacerbate the condition.

I read the urinating sympton starts lightening up around the 4th month.

Any thoughts? Similar experiences? Tales of it ending???

Thanks!

Ack! I'm 14 weeks and my frequent peeing seems to have just started! Like you, I have to pee all the time and when I go it's tiny amounts. So annoying. I also read that the urge to pee frequently lets up around now, so I'm baffled as to why I didn't have this problem in the 1st trimester, but I do now!

I've also considered the possibility of a UTI, but I don't have any pain, so I don't think I have one. I guess I just have to get over my fear of public toilets and deal with it.

Oh, I also have a tilted uterus, so that might have something to do with it. But I don't know.

I think the growing uterus can kinda change the angle of the bladder in addition to just adding pressure to it. You might have better luck if you tilt your body forward while peeing to change the angle a bit. I find I can pee more in one sitting that way

But yeah, I took three trips to the bathroom last night.

Popping in from another EC, but I had this problem a couple weeks ago. I was peeing constantly, and it was just a few drops at a time. I didn't have pain or burning, but my MW suggested I get Cran-Actin, a concentrated cranberry extract from the health food store. I took 6/day for a couple days and everything went back to normal. I think I might have been on the verge of a UTI and this knocked it out. Or it could have been coincidence. Either way, the bottle was $7, the pills were chewable and tasted good, so it didn't hurt anything!

If it keeps up, your MW can do a urine dip to see if there are signs of an infection.

Good luck. I can commisserate!

Wow, you must have read my mind! Just this week I have started peeing all the time. Of course this happened to coincide with two really long road trips that were made longer by the need to stop every two hours to pee. I'm was starting to worry about a UTI but when I pee it is a normal amount and for what ever reason I don't get up in the night to pee, only in the day?

I would try the cranberry juice/pill thing just in case - it has worked for me in the past. But for those with the small amounts of urine each time I would consider getting a test - urine dip or midstream urine test - just to be sure. Often in pregnancy women don't experience symptoms of UTIs like burning with urination.

Good luck

Eeek! Do you schedule breaks in there?

I twice ducked out of a faculty meeting last week. The second trip out drew comments

Not currently pregnant, but just noticed your post and wanted to reply- the frequent peeing in the first/early second trimester is usually a hormonal thing. It generally calms down once you are into the second trimester. Then, if you are really lucky, it will start again in the third trimester as the baby gets nice and big!

No, I haven't. It's a pretty "hands on" class, so I'm usually not talking/lecturing for 2 hours. Today, they were working on a "statistics workshop" mostly on their own, so it wasn't a problem to duck out and ask them to hold their questions till then end. This is the first time I've had to leave class to pee, though. I think I tend to be pretty dehydrated in the morning, and pee more frequently later in the day...

I'm sorry! I'd be in trouble if I had seminars or meetings right now, but I don't because it's summer here...

I've been peeing up a storm for the past few weeks. I was thinking UTI but no pain. My friend reminded me that this one of my body's ways of getting me used to being up every couple of hours. I'd love to get some sleep now while I can though. =P

I had a UTI with my 1st pregnancy and had no pain or burning. But was going ALL the time and just tiny amounts and I started having back pain, I figured it was just part of being pg and didn't think much of it. When I finally mentioned it to the midwife she checked the urine and I had a pretty bad UTI. They don't seem to manifest in pregnant women the same way. If its early maybe the cranberry pills and LOTS of water will flush it out, but if it keeps up maybe have it checked?

I had the same experience of Starcat. When I went to the doctor's last week to officially confirm my pg, they also tested for a UTI by mistake. I'm glad that did because apparently I had a raging one and had no clue. I thought the constant urination and back pain were just early pg symptoms. It wouldn't hurt to have it checked!!
