Snappis... I just don't see the point in the third part that goes down toward the crotch. Why is it there. It always comes loose and snags on my clothes or furniture. I'm thinking of cutting that part off. Am I Snappi impaired? Is there a reason for it? Maybe I'm just doing someting wrong.

Are you two using them on prefolds? I found out that I wasn't attaching the bottom part far enough down, so it kept coming loose, and then his entire diaper would shift, and he'd end up with a covered bum and hips, and his entire front end completely uncovered, which is just not a good thing IMO/IME. :LOL How do you keep the part pulled up through your dc's legs there if you're not using the bottom part of the Snappi?

I think if you got it tight enough around his middle it would hold it, no?

FWIW, we use a lot of FabFolds, and so that third piece doesn't even stay! I can imagine that cutting it off would work. Though I'd be scared to do it on all of mine.. I do think I'll try it on at least one (maybe one of the old style ones first :LOL )

If the sides are tight, the middle stays. I think I am going try putting it lower and if that doesn't work, I'm cutting it. Today ds got stuck to the carpet! :LOL (He does a belly crawl.) He was crying his head off. I used to always have a soaker on him so it didn't matter, but now it is so hot he's just been in a prefold.

I love the third leg.
It keeps the dipe pulled up so the legs stay nice and snug. But, you really do need to have the back of the prefold higher than the front and then pull the third leg down tight. I get a much better fit like this than with pins.

I agree with the pp, it doesn't work well with fabfolds. I end up turning my fabfolds inside out, which I guess defeats the purpose.

:

1. back of dipe higher than front
2. pull legs tight
3. pull snappi tight from side to side
4. yank down on third leg hard and fasten it low

it works! Of course, my son never did the belly crawl, so maybe that's just too much for it. But I get an swesome fit with this method and it never comes undone.
Maybe I jsut have extra good snappis?
