Pretty sure I'm ordering food from a restaurant tonight. I'm scared though. But I am so desperate for a good meal and DH's parents are coming up. They come up once/wk and always bring dinner (from a restaurant). Not being able to eat with them is torture. So....I just looked up an Asian restaurant in the city they live in and called to ask about a few curry dishes (it's a delicious, high quality restaurant I have eaten in before). The cook said the three options I asked about were all free from dairy, gluten (but I realize the potential rice x-con issue), tomato and corn. I specifically asked - no soy sauce because it has wheat? no corn starch for any thickening? no added anything such as citric acid or anything?
So, is it worth the risk? I would hate to give DD a bad night but I could almost pass out with excitement if I am actually going to eat this tonight.

Hmmmm....you are braver than I at this point!
I have yet to find a place that is truly safe (including the meats not being injected with something)

For me, at our stage of healing, it would not be worth the risk.
You may be at a different place, and then only you can make that decision.

Good luck!! - I know what it feels like....

I'd worry less with a place like outback where everything is separate -- steak, sweet potato, and steamed broccoli (for me). Whenever there's stuff cooked together, especially with spices and sauces, it just gets sooooo tricky. I barely trust other people in my family (like DH) to make food for the kids, not because he doesn't get it, but because there are so many different words.

Fingers crossed for you!

Speaking of caving... I went to Marlene's tonight to get some honey, and just happened to see the Enjoy Life chocolate chips... and I couldn't resist. So apparently we're trialing chocolate chips now.

She's fine, thanks. She's always fine the minute she wakes up. Her reactions are ALWAYS limited to the one night of sleep after I eat something bad.

You don't suck, food allergies suck!

I wonder what was in there. If your DD is fine the next day, my guess is she's at least not gluten intolerant, because it would take much more time for her to recover (like 10 days up to three weeks)
Don't ask me how I know

ugh I'm sorry mama! I had a flub the other day, we missed two busses going home and I had eaten literally a muffin all day (because I planned to make dinner 3 hours before after the first bus home!!), I went to In&Out to get DD1 some fries (and to not be cold at the bus stop) and learned that they are just potatoes fried in cottonseed oil (and they ONLY fry potatoes thats it)! So exciting, right? So I thought, wow, I can eat fries!!
Yeah, halfway through eating them I realize they sprinkle them with salt and pepper. I'm guessing its not corn-free sea salt
DD just had a little rash and was cranky the next day, nothing major, but I still felt like a butt for upsetting her tummy for some french fries!

I think we have ALL been there, not one of us is perfect, all we can do is try our best

(You don't want to know that cottonseed oil is very high in pesticides. Cotton crops are one of the most chemically-intensive crops grown in the U.S. Cotton (oil) is also one of the big four (soy, corn, rapeseed/Canola, and cotton) genetically modified crops grown around the world.)
