Did everyone else quit watching after last week? I had to watch, and I even voted even though I'm sure my one little vote didn't count.
Fantasia was totally amazing tonight! I have to admit I'm biased, since she's been my favorite from day one, but regardless, she was just sensational.
I haven't been a huge fan of Diana's (there's something about her voice I don't like all that much), but the last two songs she performed tonight were great.
I thought Jasmine's performances were the weakest. I'm wondering if the Hawaii vote will carry her into the final.
If Diana and Fantasia make it to the finals, it should be a really exciting final show.

Am I the only one who watched???

I watched it.

If they boot Fantasia, I'm going to freak.

My husband is now calling it American Suic'idol, cause it makes you wanna commit suicide lmao

I agree with you and Simon, Jasmine's gotta go.

and since they booted LaToya, Fantasia better win!!!! I don't know why I torture myself by watching it EVERY year, including the Canadian Idol. I'm always disappointed but I never vote so I guess I can't complain that hard. Can't vote on American Idol cause I'm in Canada.

I'll be watching tomorrow's results show with my eyes covered. lol

So was the Canadian Idol winner they showed good?

I watched, and I even voted. I got through three times for Diana and twice for Fantasia.

I missed LaToya. I was kind of hoping that she would win. I almost hope Fantasia gets the boot, because I feel like she is better than this show. Not to dis the show or anything since it really gave her a chance, but with Jasmine getting to go on and not being as strong as the other contestants, it's just irritating. I actually haven't thought that badly of Jasmine, but it just seemed clear tonight that she doesn't have it. I disagree with Randy and Clive about her being sharp--she was flat on that one note. Maybe it is a live vs. tv thing.

I like Diana and thought she kicked butt on her last song, but she needs to stop encouraging the audience vocally during her performance--her speaking voice is so squeaky.

Anyway, I'm hoping for Fantasia to win and Diana to come in second.

The Canadian Idol show was kind of frustrating, same way as the US one is - the cool, interesting people all gradually got voted off until only the bland ones were left. Ryan Malcolm (the winner) is just generic pop bland. I don't think the runner-up, whose name I forget, has done anything. One French-Canadian teenage girl, who was in the top ten, has just put out an album - also sounds like it's pretty bland, but I bet my 9 yo step daughter would love it!

I think Diana will win. I really like Fantasia best, she's just amazing, but I'm not a 15 year old teeny bopper voter who would actually buy the CDs!! I think Fantasia will be fine anyway, and Diana has a good voice and I could totally see her doing bubblegum pop and cheesy ballads to the delight of 12 year old girls everywhere - and that's what the competition is about, right?

Did anyone see the interview with Simon Cowell in the NY Times today?

I think the winner wins a record contract that sounds like a lot of money, but probably doesn't actually end up earning them that much. That's just a guess. I agree that Fantasia is better than the show, so I'll be happy if she or Diana wins (I think)....I might feel differently if Fantasia loses.

I feel for Jasmine. She just isn't as good as the others & it's not her fault that people keep voting for her.

I also wonder, what happens if she wins? They are supposed to get an album out really quickly, but IMO she needs a lot more vocal training before she'd be ready to release any album.

It's too bad what's happened this season. I think the original idea was that if the "public" is the consumer, they should be able to pick the star whose record they would buy. But, this year it seems to be based on things other than talent and I wonder if all those people who voted for Jasmine would really run out an buy a CD of hers?

I'm impressed with how far Diana's come. Fantasia doesn't need to win to become successful.....she'll make it no matter what.....but I do think she deserves to win.

Just my 2 cents.

I watched, but it was kind of a curiosity to hear what the judges were going to say thing more than a voting for our favorite thing. I was very curious to hear what Clive Davis was going to say, too. I wonder what will happent oonight. I think Paula hit it right on when she said Fantasia doesn't need the competition anymore.

As far as what the winner wins, it's the album and marketing that goes along with the album that they get plus some money (they never say exactly how much). And since you earn money in the music business by going on tour (the record companies earn money from the album sales), they'll have to go out and travel and sing and hold their fans interest to maintain their careers.

I think Clive Davis really stuck it to Jazzy by making her sing a song that Latoya NAILED when she was trying to make the top 12 (All by Myself). And it didn't bother me...

I think Jazzy should have cried a lot more and felt worse about NOT getting voted off last week. Instead, she looked relieved. At least John Stevens looked appalled and guilt-ridden when he didn't get voted off...

Poor Latoya, I really missed her last night.

I loved Fantasia! I called many times and got through about 20 times (I know, get a life). I think she is going to win.

Diana is good, but inconsistent. Fantasia is always right on. This is a lot like last year when Ruben was always great and Clay had some off nights...

Ok - I will admit, last night was the first time that I have seen any of them but just based on last night's performance, I would say that Diana won that one. *and I voted for her*

I agree with Simon & Clive in regards to Jasmine ... her low-mid range is just weak. She did very well in the upper range but obviously, she is not as adept or capable as the other two.

Fantasia - I just didn't care for that song the way she did it. Her tonal quality was rather weak and she can't sustain. Maybe she was just nervous? upset? Not sure. And what's with this somewhat "baby" tone that she has? Is that the way she normally sounds? Sounds like she took a big hit off of some helium or something? Didn't really care for her.

Diana -The song, "Don't Cry Outloud", was perfect for her. She NAILED it. It was flawless (first time I've ever agreed with Paula! ) and she was great!! Her low register was right on as was her upper range. She sustained her notes on pitch and had actual "emotion" while singing it. She made me believe that she "felt" it. None of the others did that.

Now - I have no idea about the others that have already been voted out...didn't see 'em but I guess it's a moot point anyway.

So...there's my 2 cents worth

I think Diana is totally average. Nothing great about her voice, her moves, her looks, nothing.

Fantasia, however......... OMG!!!!!!! It looks and sounds like she's been doing this for years!!!!!!! If she doesn't win, I will.... I will.... I will..... um, be really angry! :

I think Diana is talented........but I wouldnt buy her cd if she put one out. (To me she's just another celine Dion......one's enough!) She's just average to me, nothing special. But being she IS 16, if I saw her in a high school production Id be blown away.

Fantasia better win. I went to bed and forgot about voting so I hope its Jasmine who gets the boot this week. LaToya would have been outstanding last night.

I'm on the west coast, so I cheated and looked at www.wgvo.com (who got voted off .com) and all I have to say is thank goodness the two most talented people are singing it out in the finals next week... whew! I guess our phone system is not as screwed up as they thought it was!

Its such a drag that we are able to read peoples posts on our email! And without the spoiler tags........it really spoils it for everyone who wants to wait to see it on tv.... :

I didn't see the whole show, so I only saw Tamyra sing one song, but I liked it.

I noticed that about Diana, too. Is she from a smaller town? That could be why.

I'm totally excited for next week! It should be a fun show.

Diana's from the city of Snellville, which is a suburb of Atlanta. It has a population of around 17,000. So, it's not huge, but it is well inside the big sprawl that is Atlanta. We were in Snellville and surrounding towns doing errands yesterday and saw lots of DD signs.

I missed the show. How did they show who's rooting for each contestant. Was it just a pan into the audience to see who was there for each? Just curious.

they each had a day or 2 back in there hometowns, doing visits to radio stations, their old schools, their churches, etc. people were going wild over jasmine and fantasia, and diana got lots of attention too, but didn't seem to be as many people. maybe it is because of the small town.

Did anyone else (as pathetic as I am) watch the interview show Monday night? I got the distinct feeling that Seacrest feels sorry for Jasmine, thinks Fantasia is great, but doesn't really like Diana.
