Being that I'm totally obsessed with this - I thought it would be great to start a thread just for everybody's fav free amigurumi patterns. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/loveeyes.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Loveeyes">:<br><br><a href="http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/60480A.html" target="_blank">Best Bunny</a><br><a href="http://katcrochet.com/chi.htm" target="_blank">Chihuahua</a><br><a href="http://www.fortheloveofyarn.com/Issues/Spring06/patterns/spring06_snail.shtml" target="_blank">Snail</a><br><a href="http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=114316.0" target="_blank">Octopi</a><br><a href="http://katcrochet.com/nanook.htm" target="_blank">Nanook the Husky</a><br><a href="http://bittersweetblog.wordpress.com/2007/03/12/hungry-hungry-hippo/" target="_blank">Hungry , Hungry Hippo</a><br><a href="http://stitch.hellooperator.net/free-patterns/amigurumi-doll/" target="_blank">Doll</a><br><a href="http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=46825" target="_blank">(Not quite amigurumi but falls into the same "holy crap that's cute" category) Cupcake Critters</a><br><a href="http://katcrochet.com/kohana.htm" target="_blank">Kohana the Amigurumi Shroom</a><br><a href="http://katcrochet.com/kiyoshi.htm" target="_blank">Kiyoshi the Amigurumi Shroom</a><br><a href="http://katcrochet.com/happylil.htm" target="_blank">Happy Little Amigurumi Shroom</a><br>

I'm working on a snake for DS ... which isn't amigurumi, but only because I couldn't come-up with a way to make an amigurumi snake. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"> Next up, prolly some of those cupcake critters (to clandestinely put in DS' pockets for him to find while he's at daycare <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">), and definitely some shrooms!

Oh, I knew I shouldn't have looked.... the cuteness, it sucks me in and convinces me that I *NEED* to make some! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">

Hmmm, might have to pick up a crochet hook, something I haven't done except to make slipper laces and pick up stitches, since I learned how to knit.

I've never used a pattern. I fear that would take the fun out of it for me. If I get around to it I should work up patterns for some of the amigurumi I have made.

I'm finally getting to this point, with added confidence of course, and agree, it is a little more on the fun side just to pick up the hook and go - really with no direction, but knowing it falls along amigurumi. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol"><br><br>
I would love to see and try some of your stuff! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/winky.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Wink"><br><br>
KnitterMama - I would be more than happy to share my cupcake pattern with you! Just let me know. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

I think I've gotten most of the links posted from the thread about <a href="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/showthread.php?t=636368" target="_blank">japanese craft books</a>.

That's great! I look forward to getting to the point where I can do that. At present, I'm still learning what techniques create what look and so forth. You should totally work-up some patterns! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"><br><div style="margin:20px;margin-top:5px;">
