I am really beside myself. I was hoping to nightwean DS over some holiday soon, but he got all kinds of sick and wasn't eating and I did the whole "thank goodness he's still nursing" thing. Then we realized it was double ear infections, and he went on antibiotics. Meanwhile, he falls several times and splits his lip, all kinds of stuff like that. And then we both got thrush from the antibiotics.

I'm so seriously ready to be done nursing, but clearly he isn't. I had hoped to be done in January when I have to travel for a conference, or at least only pump a few times a day (which means nightweaning, because he's an all-night nurser.)

I just feel like every time I commit to even limiting his nursing, some calamity happens. I'm miserable but conflicted. And the thrush is just terrible, even worse than when he was an infant because of course he's not just nursing for food so I keep hoping he will just STOP until it's cleared up.

Just venting, I guess. Yuck.
