I was thinking of the little monkeys song when I thought of this post.

So I am sleeping with my 4 year old, and sometimes trying to teach my 20 month old to sleep with us. My husband has left the bed because he HATES co-sleeping, he gets kicked and pinched and has a terrible experience.

So new baby 3 is coming and I plan to co-sleep with him/her too.

What i am thinking is to move 20 month old into a pack and play IN my room (because she sleeps better on her own anyways) and that would leave some more room for ds and little baby.

How many babies do you have in your beds?

How do large familys accomplish the family bed?

I kinda miss my dh, and I woould love to get both older kids into beds on the floor so dh can come back to bed with me and baby. my ds will likley fight this issue.

We'll see, let me know how big familys do family beds!!!

Can you move 4 year old and 20 month old to a mattress on the floor and get your dh back in your bed? Will he mind if it's just you and an infant in bed?

I've been wondering about a similar issue and will watch this thread to see what others post.

Long story short, my almost 4 year-old co-slept with me until about 24 mos but has been in his own bed (mostly) for the past two years. We're hoping to have a baby in the next year and we're planning on co-sleeping (or at least having the babe in our room side-car style) for as long as I'm breastfeeding at night. We're considering moving ds's (4 year-old) bed into our room and making it a family sleeping room.

Wondering what others do.

I agree, i would try putting the 4yr and 20mth old on a mattress on the floor. we have a very tiny bedroom, so its me and bed hog "i need my private space" ds and me in our bed, and dh on a futon in the living room. Which actually works out really well because dh works the night shift, so he doesnt come in an disturb us.
