Usually dinner and a movie. We are big time movie fans and go often with the kids, but it is still our default thing to do for our anniversary.<br><br>
I'm not sure what we'll do this year, though, and it's coming up fast (Dec. 18th). So I'm <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lurk.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lurk">: and <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="/img/vbsmilies/smilies/notes2.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="notes right-handed">:.

We still haven't had a chance to celebrate our sixth wedding anniversary, which was Nov 1. Thanks for reminding me <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile"><br><br>
I think it's high-time that dh and I stole a little time for ourselves <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/smile.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="smile">

Funny you should ask . . . today is our anniversary. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/love.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="love"><br><br>
We were going to go out to dinner w/dd (20 mos), but there's a snowstorm coming, so I think I'll pick up some Italian takeout on the way home and we can just snuggle and have yummy dinner together at home while it snows. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/orngbiggrin.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="orange big grin"><br><br>
This is seven years for us, and was supposed to be our wedding anniversary also (would have been our 3rd) but, well, plans went a bit awry and we were officially married in May instead of December. But 12/4 is still the anniversary date that really matters to us and has meaning for us, so it's when we celebrate.

We don't do anything special--well, we didn't last year. This year's #2, so I guess I can't say not observing it is a tradition or anything. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">

We usually go out to dinner. On our anniversary last month, we put the kids to bed, got mil to come over and watch tv while they slept and went out for dinner.

We drop the kids off at the grandparents and just spend the day together. Either grocery shopping, or just walking around the mall and grabbing a coffee for a light lunch. We used to do nice dinners but found we spent 2 hours eating and not much talking, <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">.<br>
If we're lucky, and the gparents are willing to take the kids for the whole day, we usually go back home to have the house to ourselves. <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/winky.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Wink">

This year (our 8th), we spent up all night nursing two kids through croup. That was fun <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/lol.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="lol">.<br><br>
Usually, we go out to dinner.

Tomorrow is our 8 year wedding anniversary.<br>
In the past we have left dd with my parents and gone out for dinner/movie -or- taken her with us and gone out for dinner.<br>
This year we are going to cook something special, snuggle and watch movies at home.

We just celebrated our sixth in November. We left dd with her babysitter for about two hours and had an amazing dinner and a bottle of wine. We went out from 5-7, though, so we could be home to do the bedtime routine.

That sounds lovely... I'm going to keep this one in mind when we have an anniversary!
