I went in for a routine midwifery appointment today at 18 weeks, and my midwives were unable to find a heartbeat. An emergency ultrasound confirmed that our baby has died in utero. At the moment I don't have any more details, but should get more tomorrow.

I am scheduled to go in tomorrow morning to the Early Pregnancy Loss unit at the local hospital to discuss our options. I never thought that at 18 weeks I'd be dealing with this.
