There seems to be a lot of Fuzzi Bunz posts today, so here is another :LOL

My mom is giving me some money to buy some diapers for Kylie for Christmas and I'm thinking about getting some pockets. I haven't liked them in the past, but I'm fickle

Can FB's be washed with everything else? Or do they need special laundering?

Do flats work well as stuffers for a middle of the road wetter?

Would my 30lb 8month old fit in a large? She has 15in thighs and a chubby tummy to match. She can wear a large VB and a size2 RB FLAG (for comparison).

Do you think FB's add more complication than ease to a stash of wool, fitteds, prefolds and AIO's? I ask because it seems like pocket lovers stick to pockets only. I'm not wanting to convert to all pockets, but thought they would be nice to have for under "regular" clothes.

The main reason I'm thinking of getting FB's vs. more VB's is that I have a dozen birdseye flats that get no use. I thought they would be good to use in the FB's. Should I just give the flats away and not bother with the FB's?

Sorry, I don't really have any advice for you. I just wanted to say that since there's really good deal on FB right now, even if they don't work out you will probably be able to get all your money back by selling them. That's one of the reasons I am thinking of giving them a try. I do plan on washing them with my other diapers. I have 1 lonley disposanot right now

wow there have been lots of posts! I wash mine with everything, when I was using prefolds, that is. I washed everything together. The only complication (not even!) was I hung them to dry (but I hung my covers too so it was no big deal)

If you're happy with other things I seriously wouldn't bother with the birdseye flats, to me, it seems like a silly idea to throw something new in the mix unless you wanted to try it. As for how well they'd work I'd say they'd work pretty okay, you could put 2 in, too. But there's some good deals on fb's that come with free inserts, and you'd still be in your birdseye quandary

I only use fb's now, though, I guess because once I started it was so simple compared to everything else!

Can't help you on the sizing as my 6mo old is still in smalls. She's about 14 lbs and her thighs are nice and meaty but not "chunky"

I wash and dry mine with all the other diapers. You can stuff them with whatever you want. I think some people have posted on here about using flats. I use either infant CPFs or medium JBs in my medium FBs. As for sizing, I would think your dd would need a large, but she might be able to squeeze into a medium (then if she slims back down once she's moving around more, they'd still work for you). I think MOE has a sizing chart on their website. My ds is 18.25 lbs as of yesterday and will be 10 months on Friday. He fits into a medium on the tightest waist snap and second snuggest thigh setting. The last time I measured his waist it was around 16", and thighs were about 10.5-11", but that was about 2 months ago, and his measurements may have changed slightly.

I stuff flats in my fb all the time and they work great. I've been using them for about a month and I do stuff 2 at a time in the pocket. They aren't terribly bulky but a bit more than say jb. My flats are about 8 years old as well so they've been probably washed and dried with fabric softener before I knew better. But tehy work great and they are soo simple. I keep thinking one day I'll get brave and try to pin them. :LOL

I used birdseye flats in my FBs for several months - I've recently had to switch to other inserts, but my DD is almost 14 months old.

Just wondering: if you didn't like the FBs in the past, and you like your VBs...why are you debating? Feeling guilty about not using the flats?

As you say, you could give them to someone who could use them. (Don't get me wrong, I love my FBs!)

Larges sound like the right size for your DD, and as others said, just throw them in the wash with everything else.

I've always washed my FBs with everything else.

I was told once that the fleece may get more pilly than if washed separately, but I haven't noticed any issues.

And, I use both fuzzibunz and wool with fitteds...I like both.

The FBs take up less room in my diaper bag when we're on the go, hence why I like to keep them around in my stash.

Well, first.........I wash all my dipes together. I've never heard youre supposed to wash them differently. I just usually take them out of the dryer halfway through the drying cycle because I have hemp in there that takes forever to dry.

My first FB came with a flat and a terry insert and that worked awesome. I personally prefer more cushion, so I use fleece or CPFs with some hemp usually. But you can basically put anything in there. Heck, I have a bunch of those microfleece towels that I just trifold and use, and I have a friend who folds washcloths in half.

And I use mostly pockets, but also fitteds and covers. I like having a little variety, and I just like being able to REALLY customize my diaper for whatever it is I'm doing for the day. FBs (and we also have HHs) are trimmer, for my sons clothes that cant fit a bulkier fitted, and I find that FBs and HHs keep my son dryer........but I also like the "feel" of a nice velour lined fitted every now and then.

I used to stuff fb's with birdseye flats before I used jb's.

FB was once my diaper of choice, but I've decided to convert my stash into Very Baby AIOs.

My 32-lber wears a large fb with room to grow. Of course, she's 3 feet tall.

I've always washed all my dipes with the regular laundry and no special detergent, but with brand new fb's I'd let them air-dry so the fleece would stay soft for a long time.

They do work well under jeans, but I actually like the Bumkins AIOs better for this.
