My 19 month old has resumed hitting me. She had stopped for a while and now it is back. She does it when ever she is frustrated with me or when I want her to do something she doesn't want to do. She has also been biting me. She does a lot of the biting during our bedtime routine when i am trying to settle her down. I really want it stop any thoughts.

My son has been doing this to me for a couple months, with varying intensities. I figure it's just his way of expressing his feelings right now, so I just tell him I don't like it when he hits me, it hurts. Eventually I suppose he'll figure it out. And he doesn't hit anyone else, so I think it's just because he feels comfortable expressing all his feelings to me. Hang in there! I've been told it gets better!

So far she has only been doing ti to me. My neice is moving near by in a week and we will be spending a lot of time with them and I am worried that dd will hit or bite her while playing.

When ds hits me, or the dog, while playing, I say "touch nicely" and model gentle touching.

When he hits me in anger, I pick him up and sit down with him. With a serious look, I tell him it wasn't nice, it hurts, etc. He seems to understand that he did wrong, but so far he hasn't stopped doing it.

Good Luck.
