Hello!! I'm a mom to 3 boys, ages 3, 2 and 9 months. I stay pretty busy and I don't get to talk to other moms very often. My sons are intact and we try to be "natural" with our living, and that can be unusual to the folks around here (in Ohio). I have not been able to even find good organic options in grocery stores in my area. I hope to learn a lot from other moms/parents, and meet moms interested in similar things. I am a "realist" who is interested in spirituality these days and I also like "do it yourself" projects and activities. I just learned how to make homemade flouride-free toothpaste and I am planning to make homemade laundry detergent. My goal in life is to live off the grid one day. I am working at that a little at a time. (I'm not on Facebook either... I deleted my account @ 2 years ago because I was addicted lol.) See you around!

Welcome to MDC! It sounds like you'd love the Natural Body Care Forum. There are a lot of great recipes for things like toothpaste and deoderant, etc.

Wow, I wish I had the motivation of the OP! :) I have been addicted to FB for quite some time, but have found this as my new addiction. I'm hoping to find ideas on a more natural way of living and parenting. That is what brought me to this site. I'm from WI and have a 14 month old and am currently expecting.

And, to Queen of the Meadow, thank you for mentioning that forum. I'm going to check it out.

Nice to meet both of you! :)

Nice to meet you too It was a forced motivation lol. I didn't want to delete my FB page so I forced myself. My husband complained about me being on there too much, and he was right. I decided on a final day, and started to delete all my posts and photos until all of it was gone and when the day I had chosen arrived, I deleted the account. I don't miss it and I don't regret it. There are a lot more positive things to read on here. I like that I can just type anything in the search box like "home made laundry soap" and not only will I get links and recipes, but I can see the feedback of moms who have been using their home made stuff! I have even been shampoo free for a month now because of posts I read on here. Good luck to you on your path to being more natural- this website will be soooooo helpful!
