DS has horrible eczema. I've heard a lot that DHA/Omega-3s will help. So I've been trying to shovel as much CLO into him as possible (which isn't much). My mom pointed out to me yesterday that fish store up a lot of toxins, and liver stores up all the toxins, so isn't CLO just concentrated, nasty, poisonous essence-o-fish?

On the other hand, I know CLO is the best source of DHA, and since there's no way he's going to eat sufficiently massive amounts of walnuts and/or flax (very picky eater here) to make up for it, maybe it's worth the risk.

FWIW I'm no crunchy purist, not by a longshot, and don't aspire to be. Just trying to make an informed decision.

Thoughts?

Go to http://www.westonaprice.org and search for articles on liver to learn why when we eat liver, we're not eating toxins.

If you get good quality cod liver oil, toxins won't be an issue. Most people agree that this is a great source: http://www.greenpasture.org

I just wanted to say I have a good friend whose son has struggled with eczema. As long as they take the CLO, he doesn't suffer from it! Once they ran out of the bottle I gave them and tried some Carlson's. She said it was obviously more watery (?don't know, never seen Carlson's) and he had an episode. She switched back and it cleared up. It could just be that Carlson's has lower vitamin content and you'd need to double the dose or something.

Her son is four and thinks it tastes horrible, but is willing b/c he hates suffering from the eczema. Good luck!
